"Trey’s team’s knowledge of what I wanted was excellent. They worked hard to get my sign designed the way I wanted, on time and at a very reasonable price. The small name signs for a project were perfect. I will use them again."

"Masterfully completed the walls in our craft room. There were also some edges in our laundry room, where paint had bled over from a previous project, they addressed it perfectly and matched paint on the ceiling. Terrific communication of expectations and schedule. All around excellent service."

"I contacted them by phone on 8/7/2013 and left a msg. asking them to call me back. In a very short time they called me back and arranged to come by and look at the project that same day. The owner, Kevin Hopkins showed up, we discussed the project, looked at the existing fence, he asked questions to make sure he understood exactly what I wanted then he measured the fence, made a sketch for my approval, and presented me with a carbon carbon of the hand written quote. The quote was separated into two items, One was for the removal of the existing fence and the other was the installation of the new fence. In addition to the prented carbon copy form quote with company name, phone number, address, owner's name and email address he also gave me a business card with all the contact information on it. He was very professional, friendly, showed interest in the project and asked questions to ensure that he knew exactly what I wanted. He also asked about additional items such as the need for a gate and the replacement of a different small section of fence that was not included in this project. He was thorough, polite, friendly and asked several times if I had any questions for him. Several days later, 8/15/2013, I decided to give the project and I called him to let him know. At that point he asked for my email address, we agreed on a start date and reaffirmed the quoted price. He followed up with an email quote giving a complete breakdown of his pricing and a scheduled start date. The start date was set for 9/3/2013 and on that date his crew of tree men showed up around 9:00 am ready to start work. I went over the project with them again and they begin the removal of the old fence. They worked very efficiently and in a few hours had the old fence down and loaded on a trailer ready to be hauled away. They marked the new fence line and post locations then had to wait for the Underground Utilities people to get here to mark the location of underground before they started digging the post holes. There was no utilities in that area but they waited until it was marked before starting instead of taking my word for it. I appreciated their willingness to do this right even if it meant dead time for the crew (this was a set price project not a by the hour cost plus). Just after lunch the utilities were all marked and they begin setting the post. All post were 4 x 4 treated post set in concrete and aligned so that the fence was straight and the grain of the post turned in such a way that if it did bend or warp in the future it would bend or warp along the fence line instead of making a very noticeable "bow". The crew consisted of the owner and two additional men. They had come with their own drinking water and all the tools they needed. All three were very polite and answered any questions I had. They finished setting all the post for the 240 ft of fence they were replacing on the first day. The second day they again showed up mid morning because they had to load the material to bring to the job site. They did not store any tools or material here and everything was cleaned up when they left for the day. They set out their tools positioned the material and before long... I had a new fence. The owner had sent me an invoice via email so when they were finished and after we had inspected the work, I wrote them a check. The invoice was for the quoted amount. The new fence looks great, the material of construction are top notch, exactly what I would have chosen if I had did it myself. The job site cleaned up an excellant experience."

FAQs for fencing service projects in White Oak, TX

Yes, most states require a fencing installer to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed fence installer could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Fence installers typically charge by the hour when working on a project. Typically, you can expect to pay around $50 per hour for fence installation. Your project might take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours, depending on the length of your fence, overall project complexity, and fence type

The average cost to install a fence is between $1,760 and $4,500. These costs are what an average homeowner spends, but you might spend more or less depending on several factors. For a smaller DIY project, you might get away with spending as little as $430, or for a much larger project (like fencing for a 5-acre yard), you can spend in excess of $43,000.

Besides the size of your yard, other factors like your fence material, fence height, site prep, and additional fence features like gates all impact the overall cost. Additionally, the high cost of raw materials and manufacturing can all make the overall price tag higher.

Before you hire a fence installer to build you the fence of your dreams for your yard, it’s important to set expectations up front by asking questions. Some questions to consider include:

  • Do you offer a warranty?

  • Do you offer financing or a payment plan?

  • Do you have references?

  • Do you have photos of previous work?

  • What type of fencing materials do you work with?

Only some fences require a permit to build. Factors like where you live, how tall your fence will be, and where in your yard you plan to build all impact the need to have a permit. Below are a few examples of when a permit is needed; it’s always best to check with your fence installer to confirm if a permit is required.

Generally, if you live somewhere rural, like on a farm, there’s a good chance you will not need a fence permit. However, you will most likely need a permit if you live in a highly-populated area. In addition, many privacy fences in your backyard won’t need a permit if it is 6 feet or shorter. However, you might need a permit for anything over 3.5 feet in your front yard.
