"Arjon Painting was a complete life saver. I had a tenant do a lot of damage to just one bedroom and I just needed texturing. We had a quote from one contrator and one that showed up, but never heard from either one. I posted to Anji's list stating it was a small job hoping I could get anyone to come texture this room. He called me right away and came out and gave me a quote. He came out the next day and got it done in just a few short hours. It looks amazing and it is nice to know that there are some contrators willing to do small jobs to help out people in need! I could not have done this without him. He was polite, friendly and very punctual. He always called me to let me know he was on his way, which I appreciated. For me acknowledgement is huge and the other two contractors could have just sent me a text to say they were not interested, but did not have the courtesy to do that. I would highly recommend Arjon Painting and not the other two that I will not name."

While often used interchangeably, flat and matte paints are not the same. Flat paint has no gloss and is completely shine-free, while matte has up to 10% resin, giving it a slightly velvety appearance. Both paint and wallpaper can work in a bathroom, provided you choose high-quality products in either category. Washable vinyl wallpapers can stand up to bathroom humidity without peeling, as can semi-gloss or gloss paint finishes. However, if you’re someone who likes to redecorate often, paint may make it easier to change colors or designs more quickly. If you want full humidity protection and cleanability, tile or stone works better.

Painting in ideal temperatures (between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit) with moderate humidity and ample ventilation is the best way for your paint to dry properly. You can turn on box fans and crack open windows to add circulation, but be sure no dust or debris gets on your wet walls. In the end, it’s best to be patient and ensure your paint is fully dry before applying a second coat or moving items back into a room.

If the exterior walls are not thoroughly cleaned before a paint job, the paint could stick to the grime, creating obvious imperfections along the way. Beyond that, painting over a freshly-cleaned wall just about doubles the lifespan of the paint, from three or four years to seven to ten years.
