"We were wanting to enclose an area of our house to make an office. Kevin did an amazing job. He came out and listened to what we were wanting to do. He gave his opinions and advice and drummed up a quote right then and there. Kevin explained the cost of everything and the process. His guys executed everything perfectly. They even cleaned up after themselves and kept the dust enclosed into the area they were working on. We are extremely happy with our new office and look forward to using Nolen Contracting for many other projects."

"Shopping for replacement windows is an excruciating experience. I was shocked by the slimy business practices of some of the reps I spoke to. The worst part is the high pressure tactics to sign a contract on the spot. When spending thousands of dollars on a major home improvement, who doesn't get multiple bids? But even when told they were the first company I had talked to, some vendors really put on the pressure to sign a contract there and then. Window Expo was the exception here. They made it clear they wanted my business, but they were realistic about the bid process and showed a real interest in making a competitive bid. Their installers were diligent and did a great job. My only quibble was that there was a lot of confusion on my job over double-hung vs. single-hung (depending on the specific window's size and configuration) and triple glazed vs. double-glazed. While in the end the windows I got are quality windows and I like them, they weren't what I ordered and I didn't notice until after the installation, so I had to negotiate a credit. Whoever you work with, pay very close attention all along the way to these details and make sure you are getting what you ordered. As to value for money, it's very hard to tell. It reminds me a lot of mattress sales -- everyone has their own brands and it's virtually impossible to do an apples-to-apples comparison of two vendors' products. Perhaps if I had done significantly more research on my own I would have a firmer sense of whether I got good value for my money."
