"I contact Tubs and Tops for a quote and sent them some pictures of my 1974 tub that had been rusting--I got an immediate response with a description of the process. They were able to come by the same week that I called.
The tech showed up a little early and called when he arrived. He was very friendly and got straight to work. It took about 3 hours from start to finish. He was very careful to tape up the bathroom to make sure none of our surfaces/fixtures were damaged during the process. The tech was very knowledgeable and walked me through the process and even gave me some pointers on how to maintain our new tub. Once he was completed, he cleaned up the area and it looks like we have a brand new tub!
I'm pleased with the work they did and it beats having to get a whole new tub, have it disposed, installation, etc etc.

"We were very impressed and pleased with everyone from Suburbia, including subcontractors, who worked on this project and were thrilled with the finished result.  The construction supervisor, John, was wonderful to work with.  Our home sits high on a golf course hill and we wanted to take full advantage of our view.  We completely remodeled our backyard patio, replacing a rickety and worn wooden deck with a travertine patio and creating a beautiful, functional outdoor living space that included opening up the pool area.  We had a hot tub in the center of the wooden deck that blocked our view to the western horizon from the master bedroom.  We also had a fiberglass pool that looked more like a bathtub because it didn't have any tiling or coping and we wanted to make it look more inviting.
We sought estimates from 3 companies, but Doug, our designer, was the only one who was able to interpret our verbal description and create a graphic representation that captured our thoughts perfectly.  The computerized graphic was also a wonderful tool for tweaking the project as it progressed.
The work took about 7 months from start to finish, and began with the demolition of the wood deck and adding a 13 ft by 11 ft extension to the existing patio cover.  Footings were installed for concrete walls that were later covered in stone that we selected ourselves, and the massive curved bar was created.  The ground where the wooden deck had been was excavated and leveled to be on the same plane as the pool decking, and all, including the original covered patio, were then decked with Durango travertine pavers.  A stone wall with a gas firepit was built, and stone planters were created in a step-down patio area beyond the bar.  The outdoor kitchen with grill and side burners was intalled and connected to the natural gas line.  The hot tub was reinstalled to the far south side of the patio, adjacent to the bar and next to a floor-to-ceiling wall that now houses a TV cabinet.
Almost as an afterthought, we decided that our existing pre-fab sunroom needed an update as well, and, once again, Doug designed a new sunroom exactly to our specifications.  We wanted "real" walls, a higher ceiling and picture windows, as well as a "real" roof and tie-in to our HVAC system.  All were accomplished to give us a year-round room that has become a favorite place to sit and watch the sun go down.
The final step was completing the landscaping; Doug took us to the wholesaler to select the plants we desired and had them installed in well-prepared beds.  All work was done with local building permits and inspections.  Deadlines and projected dates were consistently met.  All construction materials and debris were removed.

"Went well - everything is looking great as it’s being finished, and Tim brought in another expert for part of the ceiling patch/repair to result in the most professional looking job. Older leak above apparently resulted in some mold growth between top floor and ceiling, so they had to tear it open, test, spray anti-microbial, then patch with drywall, texture, paint. Nice guys, and would recommend."

Install Above Ground Pools questions, answered by experts

Building an inground pool is a job best left to the pros. Excavating the area and building the pool requires heavy equipment and specialized training, and pools have complex plumbing and electrical systems. Unless you’re experienced in these areas, you’re better off hiring a pool contractor to make sure the job gets done safely and correctly.

If you put too much baking soda in your pool, your alkalinity will rise. That means you’ll need to take steps to lower your alkalinity. You can either add more water (which will require more chemicals because they’ll be diluted), wait for the alkalinity to lower naturally, or use a chemical like muriatic acid to lower it.

No, according to the CDC, animals do not usually pose health risks to swimmers, even if one dies. If a pool is maintained well, chlorine should kill any germs left by an animal within minutes. That said, homeowners should remove the animal as soon as possible and clean and disinfect the pool afterward.

Yes, a pool with a heater will lose more water. The heater warms the water, which increases the rate of evaporation. To minimize water loss from evaporation, you can install a pool cover and keep the pool covered when it is not in use.

The most expensive part of building a pool is typically the excavation and labor, which can account for 25% to 50% of the total project cost. This is particularly true for inground pools that require significant excavation, potentially including the rental of large equipment, and extensive construction labor. In contrast, above-ground pools are generally less expensive as they typically do not require excavation and can be installed much more quickly. Concrete in-ground pools are among the most labor-intensive options.
