This becomes even more challenging if your walls aren’t plumb or your floors and ceilings aren’t perfectly level.

There is no official name for an open gap between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling. However, when that area is covered with a boxy shape to hide wires or pipes, this is known as a soffit. In some cases, this area may also be hidden with a bulkhead, a lower ceiling area that fits just above the cabinets.

Clean regularly, avoid harsh chemicals, and address scratches or dents promptly to preserve their appearance.

You should not clean cabinets with vinegar. While many homeowners think it is a natural cleaner, vinegar is a mild acid, not a degreaser. Since it does not cut through greasy grime, it won't effectively remove it from kitchen cabinets. For best results, use a degreasing cleaner designed for prep work, then rinse and dry thoroughly before sanding.
