"They did a great job! They called me back the same day and set up for the repair the very next day. They arrived on time and taped off the area so there was no mess. They fixed the crack and charged the amount that I was quoted. Great experience and will definitely use again!"

"At the beginning, there was a problem when Mason Man's estimator cancelled my appointment a few minutes before he was to arrive. Since I was in a hurry to repair the sidewalk at my lease house, I requested that another person come out the same day. Mason Man sent another representative to meet with me on the same day, and they were able to schedule the work just a few days later. The crew even stopped to purchase donuts for me when they realized they were running late to my job. The sidewalk repair & other masonry work looks great."

"I hired Alexis to do some dry wall repair. He also helped me with a couple other small problems. He is very professional, has a calm and reassuring personality, and an excellent with ethic. I was comfortable even giving him a key to my house. His work is top notch, and he cleaned up the area after he finished. I would highly recommend him for any project you’re considering!"

"Manly Maids and the owner Nathan Hale is the best keep secret in the Dallas Fort Worth Area!!!  I realized I was loosing water and called for an appointment.  He was prompt on appointment time and  very professional.  After checking my pool he  found  the source of the leak and he was able to  repaired it.  He gave me some much needed advice on my pool and also did a quick check just to see if I had any other issues.  I was so impressed that I have decided to let Manly Maids take over my pool service full time!

"Very well. Approximately four days start to finish on-site. We picked out the counter tops at the warehouse. Our selection was more than our budget but Juan was able to work it out with the vendor to get the slab without increasing the price. I threw them a couple of curves during the process but they adapted very wall and are very customer service oriented."

Plaster Repair questions, answered by experts

Smaller is better when patching holes with spackle. Any holes wider than four to six inches in diameter tend to be too wide to repair with spackle alone. You'll likely want to patch bigger holes with a drywall panel.

Even holes measuring up to 6 inches may be challenging to fill with spackle alone. For best results, purchase a wall repair patch made from wire mesh. Cut the patch to fit over the hole, then use the spackle to hold it in place. Apply the spackle over the patch as you would for a smaller hole.

Whether you can install or repair plaster yourself depends on the project's size and your comfort level with DIY projects. It's possible to handle small repairs on your own, but for larger projects like a room restoration or a full installation, it's often best to hire a local plaster professional. The final appearance, even coverage, and durability of the plaster depend heavily on proper wall preparation and application. If you are not 100% confident in your ability to achieve a professional result, letting an expert handle the job is a worthwhile investment.

Although they have similar applications, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Their primary differences lie in their composition, consistency, and ideal use cases.

Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it thicker than joint compound. It dries quickly and is easy to sand, which makes it ideal for small wall repair projects like filling nail holes or patching minor damage.

Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum. It is primarily used for large-scale projects, such as taping and finishing the seams on newly installed drywall. It tends to shrink more than spackle and can be more difficult to spread.

While both products can be used to fill small depressions and cracks, spackle cannot replace joint compound for taping and mudding new drywall. Conversely, you can often use joint compound for small patching jobs typically done with spackle.

To maintain plaster walls, inspect them regularly for cracks and seal them early. Clean the walls by dusting regularly or using a gentle, damp cloth. It's also important to avoid moisture exposure. Repainting as needed will help maintain the wall's appearance and longevity.

If the holes in the plaster are small, you can fill them with layers of patching plaster until they’re filled. After it dries, you can sand the plaster and paint over it. If the hole is much larger, consider using bonding plaster first and then a layer of patching plaster, completing the process with sanding and a layer of paint.
