All sales reps were very nice. However, the bids we received went as high as $17500 to $6200. We researched all of the companies on Angie's list and Stratum had very good ratings. We had hoped to find someone locally to support our local economy; however, the estimates were significant. Before the job, a structural engineer from another company came to house to verify what the Stratum sales person estimated and to offer any additional advice. This same person came a second time to inspect the work performed. In both cases a detailed report was provided. The bid also included a visit by another plumbing inspector. All of these costs were a part of the bid and were not included in other bids.We did not have to use the companies with whom they contracted, but they each had good references on Angie's List. We are pleased with the work. They even had to work on the inside of the house and there was no noticeable disruption when I returned. Carpet was down just as I had left it. We received a detail lifetime warranty which is transferable with the house. We purchased our house in November of 2010 and we've had tons of plumbing problems. We didn't know when we bought the house that apparently everyone on the block has plumbing issues. One of my neighbors, who's also a co-worker of mine, had just recently paid $3,500 to have his plumbing fixed. When he told me how much he paid, I was mortified that we'd have to spend that kind of money to have our pipes fixed. The sink in our front bathroom leaked and we'd tried everything. We'd had friends and family try and help us fix the problem. We'd snaked the pipes multiple times trying to figure out what was wrong and had no luck. We thought we were doomed and going to be forced to shell out a ton of money to get the problem fixed. I'm the purchasing agent at my company and J's Plumbing is who we use and so I thought I would try them first even though I was initially apprehensive that they might be expensive for a house call. They not only were very reasonable in price, but they arrived quickly, were friendly, and did a great job. It turned out to be a just a clog, but it was a very difficult one to remove. I felt so bad because it took the plumber about half and hour w/ an electric snake to finally get the pipe unstopped. We knew that our sink really needed to be replaced, too, but were worried about the cost. They replaced both the sink and the faucet and made sure to clean up any mess and charged us very little for all that they did. It was a great overall experience and I would definitely recommend them in the future."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/sherman/j%27s-plumbing-reviews-7470938.htm"},"position":9},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Rodger's Plumbing","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Candice P."},"reviewBody":"AWESOME! First let me say that they were on time and waited for me as I was stuck in traffic getting home to meet the plumber. Robert was the gentleman who came out. We had a several leaks under the kitchen sink from the hose going to the garbage disposal and the pipes going from the right side sink into the disposal. We had the leaks fixed once before, but they started again a week later. Robert educated me on the proper fittings and washers needed to fix the problems. He pointed out that the other plumber did not use the washers and simply tried to glue everything together. The vibrations from the disposal running had eventually caused the glue to break loose and the pipes to vibrate out of place each time the disposal was ran. The price is unbeatable! I was expecting a bill well over $150. I was shocked that all the work he did in such a short amount of time cost under $100!!! I am highly impressed. As a landlord who has used several handymen and professionals in the past, this was by far the best experience, and I would definitely recommend them! Matter of fact I gave there information to two of my friends within an hour of the service performed as they needed plumbing services and were impressed by the amount of expertise Robert showed, how efficient he performed the service, and the amazing price! I will not use anyone else for plumbing services in the future and I look forward to future business with this company to aid in servicing my housing and rental plumbing needs! "The blockage was successful unstopped, but the oil and grease was left all over my driveway and my flowerbeds were a mess. It was way too expensive for a mess to be made of this magnitude. It was nearly 400.00 dollars for less than 30 minutes work. I was left to clean up the mess. This just wasn’t right."

"Worst experience of dealing with a contractor. I started to build a pole barn myself several months back and realized I wasn't good at it and I needed to hire an professional, details of the job were simple fix my errors and install the metal. The so called professional I hired is /was Morgan (Owner) with MLB buildings. Morgan was one of 3 contractors that provided a bid. The projected timeframe that was given was 3 days and the payment structure was broken in to 3 payments. Within the 1st week he had already received 1st and 2nd payments with one wall of metal up and supposedly framing fixed. Going into two weeks he is having issues and just installing metal without the roof trusses being fixed as we discussed. Metal had to be removed, metal not cut correctly all costing me money. I really didn't get upset until he asked if he could leave for a week to go make extra money because he is now in the negative after being on my job 2 weeks. Reluctantly, I felt sorry for the guy , but asked a date of his return. Now that he has been paid almost all the money he has pushed me off another two weeks and now not answering my calls. The metal install was not the best and yet I was still willing to work with the guy. I will post pictures soon of 20 ft walls of metal installed with screws on top and bottom and none in the middle, garage door wood caps just thrown up not secure, gaps at corners, around windows, or anywhere there is a cut has a gap of 1" or bigger, some panels not straight. All the way around not only a bad job, but didn't even complete the bad job. The guys that were working with him would quit due to not getting paid. My question is if he is not paying his guys that worked at my job where did the money go that I paid him? Also, as a side note all materials were purchased by me and he was getting paid thousands of dollars for labor only on a 3 day job that is now a month into it with be being left with a big mess to fix. Feel free to reach out to me with any doubt and I will be more than happy to invite you to my home for you to see yourself. Location: Pickton, TX"

FAQs for affordable plumbing projects in Sumner, TX
Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
It’s possible to snake minor drain clogs yourself, provided they sit within a foot or two of the drain itself, but it’s usually best to hire a professional plumber regardless. Even experienced DIYers have a high chance of accidentally pushing the clog further into the drain using a drain snake or another tool, so hiring a plumber is the ideal course of action. A professional plumber can use camera equipment to locate and identify the clog, and remove the entire blockage to fix your issue permanently.
Typically, plumbing repairs cost about $325 per job but can range from $175 to $4,000 or more. Simple fixes, such as a toilet repair, will be less expensive at around $150 to $400. However, if you have a pipe that has burst, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 or more.
The project that needs to be completed, the size of your home, and the type of plumbing pipes you have can all impact the final cost. External factors such as supply chain issues and shortage of materials all play a part in how much this repair might be.
The average cost to unclog a drain is around $200, with prices ranging between $110 and $800, depending on the type of drain and the extent of the clog. Hiring a professional to snake the toilet or sink will usually cost between $110 and $275, a bathtub or shower typically costs around $225, and a main line clog can cost between $100 and $800 based on the severity of the clog and how far beyond the access point the clog sits. Since the labor involved varies, most plumbers will charge an hourly rate for drain cleaning.
The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350.
