Eddie Leyba told me that he is good friends with all of the city inspectors, and if I wrote on Angie's List about my experience, he would call the inspectors and have my mother's house condemned! I could not believe what I was hearing. I called the head of community development in the city of Durant, Darla Smith. She told me that she, nor any of her inspectors had ever heard of him! And while we were talking, she got online to Angie's List and informed me that Eddie Leyba of EL Construction, had only one review. And she read it to me. And then she read the one review said he "did some electrical work" for his one reviewer. Darla told me that after checking, Mr. Leyba's company IS NOT LICENSED TO DO ELECTRICAL WORK. And told me that he should be reported! PLEASE BEWARE OF EL CONSTRUCTION. THEY ARE LIARS AND FRAUDS, WHO WILL WALK AFTER CAUSING DAMAGE TO YOUR PROPERTY!"},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ok/atoka/el-construction-llc-reviews-8483301.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Tierney Plumbing LLC","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"OK","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"S G."},"reviewBody":"I found Tierney Plumbing on Angie's list and emailed Ron the day before Thanksgiving. He called me that day and asked me how urgent was it (meaning did we have gas and sewer) and I told him that our pool company's plumber had temporarily patched for us so was just needing the digging of the new trench and moving of the two lines. Ron came out to see us that weekend (on Saturday if I recall) as we had company in town that week and didn't want to deal with it until the weekend. He was a very professional person and seemed like a nice enough guy. He reviewed the project and asked if he could call me back with a quote as he needed to check what it was going to take from his side to dig the large trench required for the project. To his credit, he called me back within a couple of hours and provided me a proposal that was well in line with the others we had gotten. He was willing to come out that Monday morning and get it fixed for me. I would have used him for the project, but my builder agreed with me to cover the cost of the move if we used his plumber ( I am sure he made the plumber absorb it as it was their fault in the first place). I told Ron how I was handling and he wished me luck on the project. I would definitely use him if I needed a plumber. Nice guy, who knows what he's talking about and doesn't put the high pressure sale on you like many did. Hank Henry came to our home and reviewed our project and asked many questions about what we wanted. He's a very competent guy and did a good job to understand our needs. He built a proposal for us a week later and I went to their showroom to review it. They are professional operation with all of the potential elements on display for you to see and select. We made our selections and had him update his proposal accordingly. The price of course did rise (there is only one direction with most pool companies so negotiate hard BEFORE you sign a contract. We reviewed proposals from 6 other pool companies and eliminated most almost immediately. It came down to three strong contenders, Riverbend, Advance and Gold Medal Pools. All three had good recommendations and made very professional proposals. The prices for the project ranged from over $100K to $65 for the stripped down version (so yes, there are big differences in price). Riverbend fell roughly in the middle and they were willing to move on price to meet where we wanted to be. Advance (Brian) Pools is a much smaller company, but very competent so would absolutely consider them in the future, but in the case they were not very competitive in terms of the product offering compared to the two larger companies. In reviewing their proposal, I would highlight following strengths: - 1/2" Rebar (much stronger than the 3/8" that most pool companies use) - Very competent in terms of equipment offering (I personally like Jandy) - Smart approach to plumbing your pool by running pipes through a single trench so they are easier to service -Design in terms of Spa - recommended a Captain's Chair (4 jet chair) in the spa, which was a great idea. -Most of the people who would work on your pool are their employees (higher accountability), but still some contractors (ask this question) -They use dry gunite, which is shot in place (stronger) -Gravel rock base instead of just sand and they build walls on own footing (not on deck) Weaknesses: -They tend to use the cheaper rocks and boulders for copping (Oklahoma River & Flagstone) instead of Arkansas, which is harder -Hank is a nice guy, but got a bit impatient with us toward the end and was ready to move on to the next customer -Design was not as good as some of the others (less creative) and they did not have the 3d modeling demo that most places use, which really helps you visualize what its going to look like. -they push Salt systems, which have more reliability issues and require more maintenance for your rocks and decking Ultimately, it was a very tough decision and I feel we would have likely been happy if we had gone with them as they are quality company. Interestingly, when we made the decision to go with their competitor I held off communicating to them for a few days in case anything went wrong (which we know can happen) and I never heard from Hank. I would have thought he would contact me to find out what I was doing, but never heard from him. Made me feel a little better about our decision though. I would have shared this feedback with him as well. Ultimately, I would say they are a quality organization and if you like their design then you could do a lot worse than working with them. A couple of tips for people building pools: -Negotiate the sewer and gas reroute into the cost of the pool (unless you are 100% sure its not going to be touched as it will) -Negotiate ANYTHING you think you want upfront as the day you sign the contract, EVERY change costs you. -Over estimate your decking as you will want more, trust me. It doesn't cost anything to reduce it later as the cost is 2X once you agree to move forward... -Review the plans in detail, THEY ALL PROMISE things that don't show up in the plan. Over-clarify and GET IT IN WRITING! They quickly "forget" what they promised to do. I have had to do a couple times already... -IT will take longer than you think, it always does...6 weeks? No way, 8-10 weeks is far more realistic if its an intricate pool. -Negotiate any landscaping repair you want UP FRONT, or you will get your yard back looking like a moonscape...they do not replace grass unless you specifically ask in the contract... -All pool companies try to get as much up front as possible, keep in mind that you want to hold back about 10% to make sure they finish the job. They will push back, but will take the work and you get piece of mind that it gets done. Previously he had successful hung a few big screen TV for me, but messed up hanging a large mirror that fell and ripped a chunk from the wall (we gave him the benefit of the doubt). He showed up on time to install our sinks. He installed two sinks in our master bathroom and in the process left all of his trash (old sinks, packaging and stuff) in a pile in the middle of our floor. We also noticed that he had installed the one sink backwards (hot on cold side). He also installed two sinks upstairs in our guest bathrooms and left similar messes up there. He installed the p-trap incorrectly on the drain and created a situation where it flooded underneath our sink (slow leak that we didn't notice right away). We made him fix the sink in the master while he was there. What made us angry (besides the mess he left us) was his attitude and the fact that he was riding the clock on us (he bills by the hour at $75 per). It took him almost 7 hrs to install four sinks, which should have taken roughly 3-4 total hours (as we learned when a professional installed some others). We didn't learn about the mistake he made in the upstairs bathroom until later when we noticed water underneath the sink. Fortunately, we caught it before it had done real damage, but could have very easily flooded the house if we were unlucky. When I raised the issue with him, he got very rude with me and told me that we rushed him. (really, 7 hrs?). i saw a side of him that I didn't appreciate and would not want around my family so took the time to share this review. He was ok at the electrical piece, but would not recommend him for anything plumbing or area where craftsmanship is important (he was sloppy). Affordable Plumbing reviews from real Angi homeowners in Durant, OK
This was the absolute worst company to deal with. A week without hot water, close to $600 lighter and 2 trips from 2 different plumbers from this same company, we are no better off. Neither plumber that came out spent longer than 5 min with the tank and the office got rude, defensive, and...

FAQs for affordable plumbing projects in Durant, OK
Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
It’s possible to snake minor drain clogs yourself, provided they sit within a foot or two of the drain itself, but it’s usually best to hire a professional plumber regardless. Even experienced DIYers have a high chance of accidentally pushing the clog further into the drain using a drain snake or another tool, so hiring a plumber is the ideal course of action. A professional plumber can use camera equipment to locate and identify the clog, and remove the entire blockage to fix your issue permanently.
Typically, plumbing repairs cost about $325 per job but can range from $175 to $4,000 or more. Simple fixes, such as a toilet repair, will be less expensive at around $150 to $400. However, if you have a pipe that has burst, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 or more.
The project that needs to be completed, the size of your home, and the type of plumbing pipes you have can all impact the final cost. External factors such as supply chain issues and shortage of materials all play a part in how much this repair might be.
The average cost to unclog a drain is around $200, with prices ranging between $110 and $800, depending on the type of drain and the extent of the clog. Hiring a professional to snake the toilet or sink will usually cost between $110 and $275, a bathtub or shower typically costs around $225, and a main line clog can cost between $100 and $800 based on the severity of the clog and how far beyond the access point the clog sits. Since the labor involved varies, most plumbers will charge an hourly rate for drain cleaning.
The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350.
