"I'm not really satisfied by this job. I contacted Lou for a repair on a cherry butler's table that I built 25 years ago ... our communication took a LOT of phone calls, most by me, but we finally got the job done... he did a good job of stripping and sealing my old oil finish so that poly urethane could be put over it. He polished the old hinges and replaced a few screws but left the screws obviously mismatched, some old, some new. Was wood puty put in the old screw holes to hold new screws tightly? Don't know). In building period furniture I have taken great pains with the finish ...either French polish (oil and pummice) or lots of fine sanding between coats. Unhappily Lou's final finish left much to be desired...the four folding "wings" of the table were left rough as though the job was rushed and done at the last minute ...which I think it was. Final price...$300. Definitely too much for this type of workmanship"
"Jose and his crew are great at building and installing Kitchen style cabinets!! I called and interviewed 3 cabinet makers and considered him the most knowledgeable. I used to do carpentry work but am no longer able to due to a back injury. He built me a large closet for my mudroom and my wife and I very happy with the finished product. My son and his wife are going to hire him to build an entertainment center."

To calculate the number of linear feet of baseboard you’ll need, measure the length of each wall of the room you’re installing them in as close to the floor as possible, rounding up to the next full linear foot. If it’s your first DIY molding job, having a few extra feet on hand for miscuts is a good idea.
A-frame homes are on the smaller side. While there’s no set square footage amount it has to be, it will usually come in around 1,000 square feet or smaller.
The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.
In framing, studs are placed at 16-inch intervals to coincide with the typical spacing of wall materials such as drywall or plywood. This spacing is called "on-center" and is necessary for maintaining structural stability and efficient use of materials. The 16-inch spacing also helps to distribute the weight evenly across the building's structure. For those looking to cut material costs and improve energy efficiency, 24-inch stud spacing can be employed through a method called "advanced framing". This requires careful planning and adherence to local building codes to ensure structural integrity.
Framing with metal studs can be significantly faster than using wooden studs, provided you have some experience working with the material. While you can use virtually instant pneumatic nailers with wood, metal requires installing screws. However, because metal is lighter, straighter, usually comes cut-to-length, and doesn't require sorting for the best pieces, you can save significant time using metal instead of wood.
