"I was in Houston for the weekend visiting family and ran up to the Walmart for some things I forgot to pack.  When I went back outside after checking out I couldn't find my keys.  I went back in the store and looked,  looked to see if they were in the ignition,  but couldn't find them.  I looked up locksmiths and called Liberty Locksmith. I saw the van come driving through the parking lot within half an hour.
The guy was quick to see me, and parked nearby. He was very friendly but no nonsense. And helpful.  He unlocked the car first so I could look and make sure the keys weren't in it somewhere. When we decided they weren't,  he got right to work and made me a new set of keys. I was driving out of the parking lot and back to my sister's house less than an hour after calling Liberty. I would definitely use Liberty Locksmith again!"

"I had contacted 3 other companies and all of them could not understand exactly what I needed done. My car battery died and the the metal key was not working either because there was a problem from when my car door was worked on and they didnâ t put it back together right. The technician came out within an hour of me calling him and he was very knowledgeable. He knew exactly how to get the door open without the key and then he fixed my key cylinder in the door very quickly. I was so relieved after dealing with 3 other locksmith that didnâ t have a clue. The cost was very reasonable. I highly recommend this company!!! Thank you for service!"

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

Commercial locksmith services range from $75 to $500, depending on the job's complexity, such as key duplication, lock installation, or access control system setup.

Expect to pay between $50 to $200 if you hire a locksmith to change your locks. That figure includes labor and the cost of basic hardware. The cost will naturally be higher if you plan to install more expensive locks, like smart locks, and if you need a lot of them.

Homeowners can save money by replacing locks themselves. A typical rekeying kit costs about $10 to $25. The only additional cost is purchasing new house keys, and those are no more than a few dollars per key. If you want to replace the locks on your own completely, the main cost is the price of the locks themselves. A standard knob-style lock starts around $25, while electronic locks and smart locks will run in the hundreds of dollars. The only additional tools you should need are a tape measure, screwdriver, and screws if they are not already provided.

There are many types of deadbolts, but these tips work on most. First, address any grime buildup. A bit of WD-40 will loose up rust and dirt so the deadbolt can turn. Inspect the door and frame alignment if this doesn't resolve the issue. Adjust the strike plate or the deadbolt's position to improve alignment. If the problem persists, disassemble the lock to inspect for damaged or worn parts. If you are unsure how to do it, hire a local locksmith.

While lock crunching as a whole is not terribly common, it is one of the most frequently used means of forced entry into a home. Recent data suggests that forced entry through lock crunching or snapping occurs in more than 25% of burglaries.

One of the best tools for removing a stripped bolt is a handy pair of locking pliers. Locking pliers can usually grip onto screws with a broken, rounded, or stripped head and lock in place so that you can loosen even the most stubborn bolt that would otherwise remain hopelessly jammed.
