"Fantastic! We got Vance's name from a mutual friend and after reviewing the various bids we'd received and doing our due diligence, we settled on A Honesty Roofing. The job lasted a bit longer than originally anticipated because the weather did not always cooperate. However, the crew worked when they could and finished our 2-story roof in a total of four days. They cleaned up as expected and the roof looks great. Vance was quick to respond to any questions or concerns we might have had. We highly recommend A Honesty Roofing to everyone in the area needing roof repairs."

"kevin and American Master Roofing were friendly and responsive throughout our roof replacement. They explained everything thoroughly and showed up right on time the day of the install. My neighbors all commented on the fast and thorough job American Master Roofing did. They even cleaned up ours and the neighbors yard before they left for the day. "My wife and I are extremely happy with the quality of work performed. We thought we only needed one small leak repaired but we needed more than one pipe flashing replaced. Other roof shingles needed maintenance as well and were taken care of at the same time. All the needed work was done very well and in a timely fashion. Debris was removed. Jose and Armando demonstrated both knowledge and professionalism of their craft. We are very happy with these results. We look forward to a water leak free roof for years to come. Thank You Very Much for a job well done. Virhuido & Remy Rios"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

A solar roof can replace an existing roof. Solar panels fit on top of traditional roofs. In contrast, solar roofs that contain photovoltaic (PV) materials, like solar shingles and solar tiles, are standalone roofing systems installed as a main roof. In some cases, installers can place them on existing roofs and as part of new construction. Carefully assess and choose the right type of solar roof replacement for your home and needs.

Yes, moss can be dangerous for your roof if left in place to grow without treatment. The moss soaks up and holds moisture. Having a constantly damp roof could lead to problems with rot for the parts of the roof that consist of wood. Additionally, a patch of thick moss may draw insects and birds, which could damage the roof. Thick moss could block the roof’s drainage system. Water then may back up after a rainstorm and cause further damage that could eventually lead to roof repair expenses or the cost of roof replacement.

Yes, a roof blister can cause a leak if it gets to the point where it pops. Prior to popping, a roof blister is just an aesthetic issue, but once it pops, you’re left with a small hole in the shingle. Water from rain and snow can easily get inside this hole and interact with your underlayment, roof decking, and the building material below.

If your roof has storm damage, there will be some telltale signs. These include missing, loose, or damaged shingles. You may notice cracks or dents on the metal parts of your roof, like flashing, gutters, or metal panels. Water leaks are another big indicator. So are visible signs of impact. Rather than climb up on your roof to check, hire a professional to inspect the area  safely.

Architectural shingles typically last between 20 and 30 years. While some manufacturers provide warranties for 30 to 50 years, particularly for extreme weather, achieving such a long lifespan is uncommon. The actual life of your shingles can be shorter if you live in an area prone to strong winds, hailstorms, or other severe weather. To avoid the risk of roof failure and costly water damage from leaks, it is recommended to replace your roof before it reaches the end of its expected life. Scheduling regular roof inspections every few years is a good way to assess your roof's condition and determine the best timeline for replacement.
