We decided to go with the Tilcor stone coated steel product with ice & water shield underlayment. They did an awesome job with the install. "I can't say enough good things about ABC Painting & Drywall. They are courteous, conscientious and professional. From start to finish, I felt confident that they would do an excellent job and they did not disappoint. The original paneling was removed, drywall was installed, and crown molding was put up. Joe (the owner) noticed cracks in my ceiling and recommended they be repaired and painted, so I had them do that as well. They worked with an electrician to bump out the electrical outlets, install my new ceiling fans and recessed lights. Joe has a keen eye and noticed my bookcases needed freshening up, so I had them paint those as well. My entryway had some wall damage and that didn't escape Joe's eye either, so he had his guys fix that too! My family room has been transformed and I can't wait to have them back to work on more rooms in my house."

"The work I contracted for was completed in October, 2017 and I paid on time the amount asked for. Mr. Chavarria promised the Certificate of Compliance and on Oct. 14, 2017 told me that the engineer has already come to inspect the work and has submitted the paper work to Windstorm Ins. Assoc. Since I have called several times (12's). I keep receiving excuses that the engineer is very busy, the paperwork take time, the engineer has been out of the country, etc. The bottom line is that I do not have the Certificate of Compliance and I will be having problem with my Windstorm Insurance. I really trusted this company, but at this point I do not think they are worthy of my trust. Be careful when dealing with them."

Replacing old, damaged, cracked, or wavy drywall is a great way to improve the look and feel of your home, as new drywall installed by a professional shouldn’t have any imperfections. The easiest way to cut holes in drywall for electrical boxes is to use a spiral saw with a drywall router bit. Hang the drywall without cutting out a hole for the box, but make sure you measure and mark where the box is located on the wall. Once you screw in the drywall sheet, drill a small hole into the box void, insert the spiral saw bit, and move it around the edge of the box using the inside wall as a guide. You can also use an oscillating multi-tool with an electrical box cutout for fast, professional results.

Drywall installation is considerably faster and more affordable than plastering. Because plastering involves applying a wet material, it’s more time-consuming, takes longer to dry, and is more prone to cracking. It doesn’t tend to be as insulative either. If you need resurfacing work done on the walls, it's not unusual for the cost of plastering to hit $10 per square foot, which is much higher than the drywall installation costs of $1.50 to $3 per square foot.

You should do a little bit of sanding between adding coats of mud. Knock down any ridges or significantly imperfect areas through sanding, which should help you apply the next coat of mud smoothly. If your first coat of mud is pretty smooth after it dries, a quick sanding is all you’ll need. Don’t forget to wipe away any dust after each sanding process.
