Customers say: Quick response

"I had the pleasure of working with Lee and Keith at AES, and their professionalism and expertise put me at ease throughout the whole process from the initial meeting all the way through to the end. Having no prior dealings with asbestos abatement, I appreciated their patience and thoroughness in explaining what the process entails. Another huge plus with them for me is the fact they are very reliable - they showed up on time, the test result came back when they said it would, the work proposal was sent on-time as promised, and so on. It was a big undertaking that was very well managed into a stress-free experience - much thanks to Lee and Keith."

"Sid did an excellent job and went above and beyond. He was able to come promptly and has a wealth of knowledge from his experience. And he offers a fair price for his service, especially compared to large/chain companies. If any friends or family request a referral, I always send his number. Thank you for all your help!"

"Paul completed an entire reconstruction of our kitchen with custom cabinets, including wall removal and beam installation. We trusted him with our design, plumbing and electrical issues and he did an excellent job. Not only is he a master at his craft, he construes complete professionalism at all times. The thing that I appreciated most about Paul, was that he showed up. Every single day he was the first one here and the last to leave, along with his son, Justin. Not many general contractors hold themselves to that caliber. If we had any questions, concerns, or changes, they were addressed immediately and efficiently. He helped us think outside the box and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. He talked me off many a ledge and even helped me with paint colors. This was a lot of money for us but he made much less stressful than it could have been. I trusted him and his team and I'm so glad I did. 5 stars!"

Asbestos Removal FAQs, answered by experts

It is not recommended to drill into asbestos siding because doing so can release hazardous asbestos fibers into the air. The safest way to handle asbestos-containing materials is to have a professional remove or encapsulate them.

In the event of suspected or confirmed asbestos contamination on the body, it is imperative to take immediate measures to reduce health risks. To avoid further exposure, carefully remove contaminated clothing and shower thoroughly to remove any asbestos fibers. Seek prompt medical attention, and inform your healthcare professional about your suspected asbestos exposure. Since asbestos-related health issues can take years to surface, regular medical check-ups are advised for anyone with a history of exposure.

Asbestos siding can be dangerous, but it doesn't necessarily pose a health risk if it's in good condition and left undisturbed. The danger comes from inhaling asbestos fibers, which can be released if the siding is damaged, deteriorating, crumbling, or disturbed during remodeling or repairs. Exposure to these airborne fibers can cause serious, life-threatening diseases like asbestosis (lung scarring), mesothelioma (an aggressive cancer), and other lung cancers.

If your asbestos siding is intact, the general recommendation is to leave it alone. However, if it's damaged or you plan to renovate, it's crucial to handle it safely. Due to the significant health risks and the difficulty of containing the fibers, it is not recommended to perform any asbestos work yourself. Instead, you should hire a professional asbestos removal company to inspect, repair, encapsulate, or remove the material. The presence of asbestos can also negatively impact your property's value.

Typical methods for asbestos removal include encapsulation, enclosure, and complete removal.

Asbestos-containing materials are not easily affected by water and do not disintegrate or dissolve when exposed to it. However, porous materials can deteriorate due to water exposure, leading to the release of asbestos fibers into the air. The settling of asbestos fibers can also occur as water makes them heavy, which reduces the risk of airborne exposure, though future disturbance of the materials could cause risk. Wetting asbestos-containing materials does not constitute safe removal, and the proper handling and disposal of asbestos materials should be left to professionals.
