"I was very pleased with the entire process. After the inspection, all of the issues were explained fully and everything was backed up with pictures. The repairs were performed as and when they were promised and once again pictures were used to prove the work was done. The price for the repairs was higher than I was expecting but the repairs were required and they were completed as promised. I also am a firm believer in the old saying -CHEAP AIN?T GOOD and GOOD AIN?T CHEAP. I was pleased with all phases of the job and would highly recommend Instant Chimney."

"Daniel did a great job. He repaired my chimney crown and installed a cap. Our fireplace had major repair work done. This included brick work, and a glass door. We decided to upgrade the fireplace from wood burning to a gas log system and lava rock . Now it looks beautiful."

"Amazing company. Everything was professionally done and every step of the dryer vent cleaning/repair and exterior vent replacement was explained so I knew exactly what needed to be done. The cost I was quoted is exactly what I paid. No add-on pricing. Arrived on time, very professional and cleaned up everything when the job was completed."

Chimney Inspection questions, answered by experts

EPDM roof installation isn’t too complicated, which means an inspection won’t be prohibitively expensive—around $500. These inspections should be carried out once a year in order to notice any deformities or other issues that would need immediate fixing. The saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” should be in your mind when considering regular inspections.

Yes, moss can be dangerous for your roof if left in place to grow without treatment. The moss soaks up and holds moisture. Having a constantly damp roof could lead to problems with rot for the parts of the roof that consist of wood. Additionally, a patch of thick moss may draw insects and birds, which could damage the roof. Thick moss could block the roof’s drainage system. Water then may back up after a rainstorm and cause further damage that could eventually lead to roof repair expenses or the cost of roof replacement.

Whether replacing the entire roof or just installing roof shingle replacements in small areas, always pull up the old roof shingles. While you can technically put new roof shingles (but not other roof materials) over old shingles, this can add weight strain to the roof and prevent the new shingles from securing properly to the roof.

The average cost for a residential roof inspection is typically between $150 and $500, with some homeowners paying as much as $1,000 or more. The national average is around $225. Key factors that influence the final price include the roof's size and complexity, its accessibility (a high pitch can increase cost due to risk), and the roofing material, as specialty types like slate may require a specialist. Other variables are your geographic location, the inspector's expertise, and the specific services included in the inspection. To get an accurate estimate, it is best to obtain quotes from several reputable roofing professionals in your area.

The best way to prevent wind damage to your roof, especially if you live in an area prone to hurricanes, tropical storms, or tornadoes, is to invest in a roofing product with high wind resistance. Look for the ASTM D3161 and ASTM D7158 ratings to see the specific wind speeds your roofing product can withstand. Impact-resistant shingles have the highest wind resistance ratings and will give you the best chance of avoiding wind damage.
