"The trimming went great. This was a very complicated situation because of the size and shape of the tree plus the massive deterioration to the inside of the tree. We had several contractors out to review the tree and give quotes. The solution that Rick came up with turned out to be the best and the cheapest. What more can you ask for. I will be using Rain Hunters more in the future"

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Extreme summer heat impacts the cure times for adhesives and sealants used during marble and granite service. Schedule non-air-conditioned installations for cooler morning hours. Since Pharr serves as a major port of entry, international stone shipments face customs delays. For outdoor kitchens, specify stone rated for intense UV exposure. Additionally, select materials that resist etching from the hard water supply common throughout this region of TX.

Helpful?

Verify local building permit requirements early to prevent stop-work orders during your marble and granite service. Assess your foundation for levelness, as installing stone over an uneven substrate causes cracking. Confirm delivery logistics well in advance, since commercial traffic near the Pharr international border causes delays. Finally, evaluate your existing cabinetry to ensure it supports the heavy weight of stone slabs, a common issue in older TX homes.

Helpful?

After completing marble and granite service, reseal your stone surfaces every six to twelve months to combat intense Pharr heat and UV exposure. Monitor edges near sinks for mineral buildup caused by hard municipal water, and establish a routine wipe-down schedule to prevent etching. Inspect grout lines and caulk joints after the first full summer. Finally, check your flooring for uneven edges or cracking caused by caliche soil movement across TX.

Helpful?

Build a routine for marble and granite service by inspecting sealant integrity every spring before the intense TX summer heat arrives. Check outdoor installations for freeze damage from winter cold snaps. In the fall, assess surfaces for UV degradation and inspect flooring for cracking caused by dry caliche soil shifting. Conduct monthly checks for hard water mineral etching near sinks and monitor bathroom grout for mold supported by Pharr humidity.

Helpful?

Older homes in Pharr feature non-standard cabinets or uneven floors that complicate marble and granite service. Check your concrete slab foundation for signs of caliche soil shifting, like cracked tiles, which require a structural inspection before installation. Additionally, narrow side yards and standard doorways restrict access for heavy stone slabs. Inspect lower-level areas for moisture damage caused by high TX humidity, and repair compromised subfloors before starting your project.
