Rain Hunters

The trimming went great. This was a very complicated situation because of the size and shape of the tree plus the massive deterioration to the inside of the tree. We had several contractors out to review the tree and give quotes. The solution that Rick came up with turned out to be the best and the cheapest. What more can you ask for. I will be using Rain Hunters more in the future

Anybody with a chainsaw and a pickup truck can call himself a tree trimmer. Rainhunters is a real company that will be around if you need them later. They are insured and post their insurance info on their website. You won’t get that from a guy with a pickup truck.

Rainhunters are professionals. They do top-quality work at a fair price. We interviewed three other companies and chose Rainhunters because of the professional way they presented themselves. Being members of the Better Business Bureau, having a website ([*** Link removed ***] posting their credentials and awards and being able to accept credit cards all made us feel more comfortable with them than some others. The fact that they listened to my concerns clinched the deal.  

I was most impressed with Rainhunters. I love trees and have seen too many butchered by tree-trimmers who wield chain saws like weapons to defoliate trees instead of tools to sculpt then and help them live better and longer. A tree is a living thing that should be treated with love, not just a trimmer’s paycheck.

I have a pool and contrary to most pool owners, I like having the limbs overhang to provide shade and a more natural atmosphere. When the owner, Ricardo Prieto, came out to give an estimate, he understood what I wanted and respected it. Some other companies tried to talk me into doing things their way instead of the way I wanted.

My wife was afraid that the trimmers might make our lovely old oak trees into “lollipop” tress like you see in parking lots and around commercial buildings. We conveyed that to Ricardo and he assured us they would not do that.

The crew was delayed coming out the first day, but the office called to let us know. That made a very good impression. So many service people don’t have such courtesy. We appreciated it.

If you don’t speak Spanish, you can always call Ricardo if you need to communicate anything. He will come out for the initial estimate and translate any concerns you have to his workers. Plus he will show up with them in the morning – at least he did with me (but maybe I was a challenging customer).

When the guys came to do the work, they were careful and asked before cutting too many branches, which was quite a relief. They were more concerned about making the customer happy than rushing through the job. Additionally, they were quiet, using a machete when appropriate, a small chainsaw that didn’t rouse the whole neighborhood and a small wood chipper. Plus, unlike other crews I’ve seen at neighbor’s yards, they did not have a radio blasting. We appreciate that some neighbors might not want to join us in this project by being assaulted by noise.

I contacted Rain Hunters to help me with an overgrown oak tree. They responded to me very promptly and came out for an estimate. The estimate was more than fair. They arrived to do the work on time and did a wonderful job trimming up my tree. Ricardo is very knowledgeable and was very respectful and pleasant. He even took me to see some of the landscaping projects he has done in my area. The only word to describe them was fabulous. His knowledge of plants and his work with dimension in his projects is fantastic. He is drawing up a plan for my front and back yards. I can't wait to see what he comes up with. I know it will be spectacular!!

Kept all appointments, showed up when he said he would, work was completed within a week of my request for an analysis and cost estimate of work needed. If pushed for a negative, I'd have to say his crew could of done a better job of back filling the trenches to have more of the original grass on top for quicker re-growth. That's really minor and will have to wait for a month or more to see if a more careful, but slower, approach to opening and closing the trenches would of shortened existing lawn recovery time.

Everything went smoothly. They did the job quickly and did a good job. If I had any questions, they were only a phone call away.

I gave Ricardo Garcia, the owner of Rain Hunters a budget and he stuck to it.  Rain Hunters did a good job using the resources that I had and greatly improved the look of my back yard.  They redid the sad, neglected area around my pool, added two beautiful planting beds with rock all the way around like a riverbed.  They added to a flagstone path and made a seating area that I requested.  All the existing plants and trees were shaped up and other plants were added to fill in.  The crew did good work and they were very conscientious about cleaning up after themselves and were always there when I was told they would be, or even earlier!   Any issues that I had regarding the work were promptly attended to by Mr. Garcia.  I would not hesitate to use this company again.

Great service and very professional attitude: The owner, Mr. Ricardo Garcia Prieto personally handled things from the start in a very courteous and flexible way, he provided a very fast turn around, starting with a quick estimate, presented prof of insurance, showed his personnel all what needed to be done and supervised their work. Mr. Garcia Prieto even added a few last-minute "extras" like straightening a sago palm. His employees were also very nice and responsive and they did a very thorough job not only trimming the trees, but cleaning up afterwards.
Overall, a great experience and I sincerely recommend Mr. Garcia Prieto / Rain Hunters for all your tree-service and landscaping needs; a trully professional outfit!

It went great! They totally transformed our average front yard to something you could see on a magazine cover!!

Rick was very professional in creating a beautiful patio area for our home. We were very pleased with his work.

I was able to meet them at the nursery to pick out the plants and they even gave me samples of the decorative rock. The workers came on time, worked quickly and cleaned up absolutely everything each day. The landscaping looks beautiful!  I was so impressed with the landscaping job, after that  I hired them to fix my sprinkler system also!

The project was a big one and it took a couple of weeks to get 100% completed. My biggest frustration was that I do not speek Spanish and the workers did not speek much English. I felt bad calling Ricardo, the owner, all the time to translate for me. The crew is one of the hardest working crews I have worked with. They even worked a half day on a Saturday to help get it completed.
The landscaping rock is a bit smaller than I was expecting, but I can live with it. I even was able to meet Ricardo at the nursery to help pick out the plants.

The trees are now opened up and letting light in. It was a two day project, the crew cleaned up and hauled away the mess. They did a great job!!!

Bravo Rain Hunters!  Ricardo was the consummate professional throughout all phases of my new sprinkler system.  He helped to configure the system to fit within my limited budget.  He closely monitored the quality of work performed by his employees and inspected the finished product.  The work was completed very quickly, as promised.  Ricardo was there to test the system, make sure the sprinkler heads, rain sensor, and timer settings were calibrated for maximum efficiency.  His work is guaranteed with another check on the system scheduled for next week.  And, he will come each year to replace the battery in the timer along with inspections of the system. 

Ricardo was very thorough in his communications with me, took the initiative to call me several times throughout the proposal-installation-and, completion phases; I was always well-informed.

Even though I did not use Rain Hunters for the actual landscaping, Ricardo shared some excellent landscaping ideas.  He demonstrated that he is quite the "artist," as is evidenced in the photos of his work on his website, and he is very knowledgeable about what types of plants and flowers would work in shaded areas and areas that receive more sunlight.

I highly recommend Rain Hunters and will definitely call on them again for other jobs in the future.

I had interviewed 2 other landscaping companies before meeting Ricardo,  I knew I had found someone with experience and a vision.  His work is nothing less than ART!  He did work on a house that we are not currently living in always kept me abreast on the progress on my yard.  He completed the work last week but continues to follow up with me and checks the progress of the sod and plants.  This type of service is unheard of.
