"Dale was terrific he arrived on time, was prepared to go to work, on arrival. Picked up a few necessary items, I didn’t have. Started and finished the job, cleaned up. Left with a functioning Ring doorbell that was connected to hard wire. Very professional and thorough."

From the install of our company's security system to support after install, they are always super fast with their communication and you can tell they really care about their customers. "It went very well. I initially contacted Steve late in the day on Friday, Dec. 26. I left a message; he called me back on Monday and quoted me a price of $100 to remove and install 5 new hard-wired smoke detectors. I set up an appt for the following Saturday even though he said he could come out that same day. (I was coming down with a cold and didn't have the energy to go buy the new detectors that same day.) Steve arrived promptly on Sat and completed the job in an hour: installed 4 smoke detectors and 1 combo smoke/carbon monoxide detector. A few days later I noticed that the green light wasn't glowing on the combo detector as it was on the other 4. I called the manufacturer and was told that this meant it wasn't getting electricity. So I called Steve back and told him this. He came to check it out on Saturday, Jan. 10. Again, he was prompt.....in fact, I was 15 minutes late, but I texted him and he was kind enough to wait for me. He checked out the combo detector and couldn't understand why it wasn't getting power. He guessed that it just wasn't compatible with the other 4, and said he would talk to someone at Home Depot, where I purchased the units, to see if they knew what was up. Meanwhile, I went and bought a new unit, one that was just a smoke detector, to replace the combo unit. (My house is all electric, no gas, so it wasn't extremely important that I have a carbon monoxide detector.) I texted Steve on Thursday, Jan. 15,  to see if he could come switch out the unit, and he said he could come at 10 am on Saturday. Again, he showed up on time. Steve said he had gotten a suggestion from someone, and he wanted to try one more thing to see if he couldn't get the combo one to work. He did get it to work!!
So I'm good to go now. All in all this took some back and forth and 3 visits to get it right, but Steve didn't charge extra and now all seems to be working.
Steve is super nice. He was very excited to get the unit working correctly! And his promptness stands out. We all know that contractors have a reputation for not showing up on time, not showing up at all, and not calling. Steve was right on time all three trips, and responded to texts promptly.

Ring Installers questions, answered by experts

A higher CFM will make the price of your range hood more expensive. It can be challenging to speculate how much the CFM rating affects price, but ductless range hoods—that don’t need as high of a CFM as ducted range hoods—are less expensive than their alternative. On average, ductless hoods cost between $100 and $300, while ducted hoods can cost as much as $1,000.

Yes, they can assess the size, kitchen layout, and ventilation requirements to make recommendations.

Smooth galvanized metal ducting is best and safest for venting a hood range. It’s best to avoid flexible and corrugated types of ducting, as these options don’t provide ample airflow and may not meet local code. For specific advice on which type of duct might be best for your kitchen, reach out to a range hood installation professional.

By positioning ductwork for optimal airflow and reducing potential leaks.

Yes, professionals can often retrofit models with minimal disruption.
