The wood is first kiln-dried for strength. Then the woodworker laboriously applies one of our many available hand-rubbed stains. Perfecting the skills required to master this art takes years of study and practice. The authentic Amish-crafted furniture, home accessories and gifts in our store represent a collection of work from dozens of Amish craftspeople in Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania. These craftspeople hand-build your furniture in small woodworking shops at their personal homes. About The Amish: Amish are simple, humble people who center their lives around home and family. They still maintain the customs and religious beliefs of their 18th century ancestors: growing their own food, building their own homes and schooling their own children. We are a small company the consists of only three employees. We normally do all the work required on a jobsite unless a third party is required for other services we don't offer. We except most methods of billing procedures. Materials must me purchased by customer needed for the job. Customer will only be charged for labor or special materials mentioned in the job contract!

We are a family business run by Hugh and Janel Smith and Janel's sister Pam Ponder. When an antique is purchased or if a piece of furniture is restored, we expect payment upon delivery. We take cash, checks with proper identification and credit cards. Any sub-contracting will be discussed before job is started.

My rates are only $30.00 per hour on site labor and $15.00 drive time per hour, and 35 cents per mile. This averages much less than the high fees others may charge. I can exactly quote my mileage and drive time however, Labor is as much as I can do in the time you allow, and I can do quite a bit in a short time depending on what issues we run into.
