"Chris is who came out to our house. Great! Found the problem and fixed it immediately and made sure all other outlets in kitchen were in working condition. Very professional. Very nice and courteous. Will absolutely call them again if needed. Will refer them as well!"

"

Laura and her team are wonderful people, and I felt completely safe leaving the house while they worked.  The color tips that Laura gave for accent walls turned out really nice.  I liked the way Laura and her team removed the popcorn ceiling, not scraping down to the sheetrock but leaving a textured ceiling.

There were some problems, however.

We had discussed that Laura buy the paint since she could get a discounted price; however, they sent me for paint while they were scraping the ceiling.

The painted cabinets look a lot better except for the fact that they also painted the hardware.  When cabinet doors were opened, paint scrapped off part of the hardware, leaving it looking a bit tacky.  They also did not paint the visible part underneath the top cabinet above the sink.

My biggest disappointment is with the woodwork.  They used latex paint over oil-based paint on the doors, casing the paint to bubble and peel.  When they returned to correct the problem, they primed and painted over the peeled part, leaving the outline of where the paint peeled.  My louvered closet doors were not removed and sprayed but painted while shut.  When the doors are open, the unpainted part is quite visible.  Two of the closet doors were painted along with the frame.  When the doors were opened, the paint cracked and peeled.

Although I grew fond of Laura and her crew, I would not hire them for interior painting again.

"Order arrived quickly - all in good condition. Have been using them for quite a while now. I love that the pieces lock together magnetically - so no sliding around. You can choose your colors: top and bottom. You do the measuring - they have instructions on how to do that - and it is very simple. Their order department was very accommodating when I called. Would definitely order from them."

"The crew was efficient, professional, courteous and clean. They were respectful of my property and our home. It was encouraging to see their eyes light up when they got to the majestic 200+ year old oak. They couldn't wait to get started and spent their time and effort to clean all dead limbs, ball moss and keep the shape and elegance of the tree. I have already recommended them to neighbors."

"Mister Sparky did a great job getting someone to my home to do the work ASAP. Chris, the electrician who did my job, was truly excellent. He explained everything extremely clearly and was a true, polite professional. He even worked with me on the cost to keep it in my budget. I would definitely recommend them and use them again!"

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Testing tools, such as Christmas light testers, non-contact proximity electrical testers, and multimeters, all simplify the process of testing Christmas lights. However, without one or more of those tools, testing Christmas lights the old-fashioned way only works sometimes. Without testing tools, the simplest testing method is visual inspection, which may or may not yield positive results.

The average cost to install outdoor or landscape lighting is around $4,000, with most projects ranging from $2,000 to $6,000. The total cost can vary widely depending on several factors, including the number of fixtures, design complexity, and the type and quality of the lights used, such as wall sconces, pathway lights, or lamp posts. Other factors that influence the price are the square footage of the area being lit, the amount of electrical work needed, any required excavation or trenching, and local permitting costs. For specific types, you might pay around $100 for pathway or string lighting and up to $700 for lamp post lighting.

If half of a string of Christmas lights is out, it is likely because of a single burned-out, loose, or broken bulb within that section. Long strands of lights often contain more than one circuit, so when one bulb fails, it can cause the entire circuit (or half the strand) to go dark. To fix this, inspect the unlit section and test each bulb to ensure it is tight and functioning properly. Replacing the faulty bulb or repairing a damaged shunt will typically solve the problem.

Durations range from an hour for simple jobs to full workdays for significant upgrades.

High-quality landscape lights that are hardwired and properly maintained can last for 10 to 25 years or more. You’ll usually get a longer lifespan from soffit lights and wall-mounted lights that aren’t directly exposed to the elements or prone to damage from foot traffic or vehicle traffic. Solar-powered and battery-powered lights often won’t last as long, but you can still expect a lifespan of five to 15 years.
