J.R.'s Custom Decks was founded in San Antonio, Texas in 1990. Winner of the prestigious National Association of the Remodeling Industry's "Deck of the Year" award. J.R.s Decks employs subcontractors, many that have been with us for years. We also have some hourly employees for warranty work.

"Working with JR was a simple, no nonsense and professional experience from start to finish. We wanted some kind of shade for our uncovered patio. JR came over, listened to what we were looking for, and came up with some options and a plan. JR‘s quote was right in line with, or less expensive than other quotes we had received. We ended up going with an approximately 30x12 cedar arbor. Once we settled on a day to get the arbor installed, JR and his crew came over on the scheduled day, and was on time. He and his crew were very professional and friendly, and they were very efficient. What I thought would be a multi day job was completed in one day. As for the results, the arbor is beautiful. It really does provide significant shade. It is as if we have a covered patio, but with the benefit of having air circulate more freely. We love our arbor and highly recommend JR for any arbor, deck, or other wood work job. He does excellent, professional work at a fair price."

FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. They will charge for every service call you make and leave you high and dry. I spent $15,000 for their "top of the line, Infinity Carrier" unit with all the energy efficienc BS they advertise. After 2 years of struggles with high humidity problems, high electric bills, VFD faults, and overall frustration with this purchase, this vendor wants to clean their hands and pretend I don't exist. Sadly, google review is my only leverage because they want everyone to get them 5 stars. I would if what they sold me was what they marketed or if they would at least fix what's broken or replace the entire system. My advice to you, find another vendor. Carrier has problems like other manufacturers, but you are at the mercy of who installs your system."

"Initial install went well during home construction. Roland was available during the construction phase and helped detect a roofing problem. Since moving in and using the stove, I found issues with ventilation of the stove and smoke in the house. Roland told me my house is air tight and therefore there is insufficient oxygen in the house to sustain a fire in the wood stove. Completely unreasonable explanation for lack of ventilation in a wood burning stove and wanted to argue about it. Diagnosis was over the phone and no offer made to see the problem I am experiencing. Not saying this is his fault but there is definitely something wrong. There may have been some unknown damage done during construction but his response is very unsettling when dealing with the potential fire damage in a home."
