"kevin and American Master Roofing were friendly and responsive throughout our roof replacement. They explained everything thoroughly and showed up right on time the day of the install. My neighbors all commented on the fast and thorough job American Master Roofing did. They even cleaned up ours and the neighbors yard before they left for the day. "I recently needed to replace the roof on my house. After doing a bit of research one of the shingles that looked good was the GAF HDZ. After getting four bids, the one that looked good to me was BP Roofing Ventures LLC. This has been a very good choice as they are a factory certified contractor, their people showed up on time, were very professional and installed my roof in one day. I definitely recommend their services."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Homeowners insurance typically covers roof repairs or replacement if the damage is caused by a sudden, accidental event or a covered peril, such as a storm, wind, hail, fire, or a falling tree. However, insurance will not cover repairs or replacement for issues stemming from a lack of maintenance, normal wear and tear, or a roof that is simply old and at the end of its lifespan. If a leak or damage occurs due to neglect, you will likely have to pay for repairs out of pocket.

Sometimes, a local authority won’t approve a request for a roofing permit. This may be because of incomplete documentation, unclear project plans, processing delays, or insufficient communication. There may also be discrepancies with building codes.

A chimney cap costs about $300 on average to install, with prices ranging from $75 to $1,000. The final cost depends on several factors, including the professional you hire, the accessibility of your chimney, the cap's material and size, whether any repairs are needed, and if it requires custom fabrication. Chimney caps are usually made from galvanized steel, stainless steel, or copper. Copper caps are the most expensive, followed by stainless steel and then galvanized steel. Excluding labor, average material costs are around $100 for galvanized steel, $250 for stainless steel, and $600 for copper. You may also face additional costs, such as hiring a chimney sweep to clean the chimney before the cap is installed.

Maybe you waited a little longer than you should have before dealing with the snow accumulation on your roof, and now you are wondering if there is risk of roof collapse. Here are some signs you should look out for: a sagging roof, cracking and cracking sounds, cracks in walls, and leaks in your attic and ceiling.

If you suspect potential roof collapse, do not delay. Take immediate action. Call a professional roofing company and get an inspection. You may want to move your belongings to a safe place and relocate your family until everything has been taken care of.

You can replace a roof in the winter, though it’s not the most popular time to do so. The biggest drawback of winter roofing work is the weather. Snow and ice make for dangerous, slippery working conditions. Plus, shingles can only be installed in temperatures above 40 to 45 degrees.

The best time to replace a roof is in the spring or fall when the weather is mild. However, you can likely save some money by booking the job in the winter off-season, when roofers have more availability.
