"Rob came in and methodically trouble shot a rather complex problem on our electric recliner. After he located the problem he not only fixed it but took an extra measure to make sure it could not reoccur. His charge was very reasonable. After I paid him for the repair, he noticed a problem with our front door lock and he fixed that with no additional charge. He is my new handyman of choice in the future-I was very impressed-Jim Coffer"

Customers say: Quick response

"Victor was the first to respond to my request ... within a couple minutes. We met for a free estimate: We discussed the project, which was to repair the ceiling from a 2nd story water leak. He was familar with the problem and we discussed the best and worse cases for repair. Victor showed up on time with his son, Victor Jr, and repaired the damage ceilling within a couple hours. His price was very reasonable, his work ethic and attention to detail were beyond reproach. I would not hesitate to work with him again. He has my highest, unqualified recommendation for any drywall or painting work. Top Grade A+++!!!!"

"Curtis is professional through-and-through. His work is unbelievably neat. I had 2 accent-color walls, 1 of which freestanding. He painted the edges with great precision. It's a joy to look at, even today. On top of that, they arrived when he said they would, and cleaned up very, very carefully (I am a known neataholic). Truly a great job."

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, to build a retaining wall, a permit is required. Similarly, any repairs or modifications to an existing retaining wall require permits. If the planned wall measures higher than 4 feet, most municipalities require designs and permits come through a licensed engineer. In some locations, if the wall is shorter than 4 feet, a permit may not be required. For the requirements in your area, contact your local government.

Costs depend on material type, labor rates, and additional features like decorative finishes or reinforcement.

They prevent soil erosion, add flat space, and enhance property aesthetics.

Yes, including patterns, finishes, and plant integration for aesthetic enhancement.

Railroad ties can be good for retaining walls, but it depends on the area. They have a desirable rustic look and are durable. The problem is they’re treated with creosote, a preservative the EPA says poses a risk to humans and wildlife. Over time, the preservative seeps out of the wood and into the ground. Many areas have banned the use of creosote-treated wood on residential properties. If your area does allow it, never use railroad ties near an edible garden or drinking water source. Instead, use wood that’s treated with an EPA-approved preservative or a wood-alternative composite material.
