"We have a 44 year old Fox and Jacobs house in Carrollton. The original windows were in desperate need of replacement, particularly the sliding patio door. We called Metroplex Windows & Glass based on good reviews at Angie's List and an A+ rating at BBB. Barry Cole came out the next day, took careful measurements, and recommended a window manufacturer that could make custom size windows for our narrow and wide arched windows, and over-sized patio door. He provided options for the kitchen window. We went with one very large window that makes the kitchen a show place, and fills the space with natural light. There was no hard sell. Barry left us to make a decision and let him know. We called a day or two later, accepted the estimate, and authorized having the windows manufactured. That process took a few weeks, and when the windows were ready, the installation was scheduled at our convenience and took less than a day. The installation crew was very professional and courteous, and did a great job. We were really impressed with the perfect fit for the custom windows all around, particularly the arched windows. We had put off replacing the windows for years, but finally did so because a new barking dog nearby sounded like he was barking in our living room with the old windows. After the new windows were installed, outside noise including cars and aircraft was significantly reduced, and it felt like a new house. The installation was in July, and we noticed the temperature in our house dropped seven degrees, with the A/C running less urgently, which shows how much leakage we had with the old windows. We were nervous about replacing the windows, but it is one of the best decisions we made for our home, and we can recommend Barry and Metroplex Windows and Glass without reservation to any of our neighbors who are considering window replacement."
