"The salesman sold us on a job that was not what he sold. The job started a day late, took 1 1//2 days longer and almost went over the weekend with 11 holes surrounding my house. Most of the crew were very hard workers but a few liked to take long breaks, sitting in our outside rocking chairs leaving chicken bones for our dog to choke on. I was to told that when they left, I would be left with a foot high wall of dirt/concrete surrounding 3 sides of my house. The hoses that were dug in the patios were filled quickly at the very end of the job and dried uneven and look sloppy. I had to call 3 times to get someone to come back out to fix the cracks in the outside walls as promised by the salesman. I was told that there would be a job foreman visiting at least once a day and would keep me updated on the progress. I saw him once, the very last day to get the check for the job."

There was no discrepancy between what the estimator (Ryan) promised and what the leveling crew (David, Christian, and Blake) said they could do (and what they did) to re-level my concrete pad. "Sales staff, the installation was great. The steel pier approach seems much better system than concrete piers. The pier installation seemed like a very professional job however, the restoration of the flower beds or finish work was horrible. Plants were left up rooted. I had an in-ground working drip system and they disconnected it and just thew it on top of the flower beds... no attention to detail. I highly recommend the steel pier system but the finish work sucks..."

"Miguel was prompt and kept in good communication.  He worked with me to verify type of gravel used as the base, and assisted with installation of an improved vapor barrier I supplied myself, (two layers of Tu Tuf #4 and form sides consisting of Foamular 150 glued to the concrete permimeter beam in the garage).  Concrete pour of 5 inches of #4-reinforced 4000-psi concrete when very well, sloping 2 inches from back to front, and smoothed nicely by his team throughout the afternoon into early evening.  Highly recommend M & T Concrete, will ask them back for the rest of the driveway.

"Chad showed up and we laid out a game plan to get everything chopped and removed. It took a total of 15 minutes to get in the alley, chop the branch into manageable pieces, and haul it up front to be picked up. All in the rain. At 1:30 in the morning. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome."

This could have been a horrible review but something happened to change my mind. Last year I had an estimate from Abry Brothers to lift and stabilize the foundation on one corner of my rental house.  There were step cracks in the brick, cracks in the interior sheetrock and windows that were stuck on that side of the house.  Estimate was in line with other companies.  Did a little research and decided on Abry Brothers because of how long they have been in business, my real estate agent recommended either them or U.S.S., and we really felt confident in the opinion of the supervisor who gave the estimate. His name was Keris.  He seemed very knowledgeable and earned our trust. I finally called to schedule an appointment.  Work was scheduled to put five piers in the back corner of the house.  Workers showed up on time and they put the piers.  They did not, however, back fill the soil that was removed or fix the cracks in the brick mortar.  We were told by Rudy Bautista, the crew supervisor, that the piers had to settle and they would have to come back to complete the work.  While they were there Rudy spoke to me about renting the house, an agreement was reached on the rental, he signed a lease and moved in.  In the meantime, I asked him several times about completing the work.  He always promised to do it within the next few days but it never happened. Finally after two months I told him that even though he was my tenant, I was going to call Abry Brothers headquarters and complain if the work wasn't completed by the next weekend.  It was never done so I called Abry Brothers to make a complaint.  To my surprise, they told me that Rudy had been fired weeks ago.  He was still driving an Abry Brothers car so I had no indication that he had lost his job. Eventually I had to have him evicted.  I made another appointment for Abry Brothers to come up to inspect and complete the work.  This time Keris came.  They discovered that only four, not five piers were put in but the house had no further sinking.  They put in the fifth pier, back filled the soil around the area and fixed the cracks in the mortar. It took a long time to get the work completed because of a dishonest employee but they remedied that problem and fired him. Keris and the crew that he brought to finally complete the project were wonderful.  They did a great job and I am finally confident that the work was done correctly.  The house looks great.  Thank you Abry Brothers, and especially Keris, for making things right.

"We had Thrasher look at the same project & all I wanted to know if it was repairable, the cost, & when it could be completed. He came out & recommended tearing out my front steps and starting over. There was nothing they could do to repair the front steps into our home. APEX representative looked at the project and asked me have someone remove or slide the concrete step forward to inspect the concrete step to see if it was hollow, if so they, they could raise the concrete sidewalk that the step was installed on. It was hollow, they looked it over, gave me a bid, & scheduled the date to complete the project, and completed the project. Completely satisfied!"
