"Daniel is excellent! He couldn't be more polite, and has been doing some great work! He has helped install and level a new backdoor and installed new bathtub fixtures, replacing a faulty copper pipe. Very reasonably priced, and he has completed both jobs in a very timely manner. Will absolutely call him with future needs."

"Great. Good guy, dedicated. He won’t quit until job is done right. He swiftly fixed a problem created by another pool man. (Thankfully, a friend referred us to him.) She described him as very honest and dependable. We have found that to be true. His prices are very reasonable. More than anything, we trust his judgment and work ethic."

"Charlie does great work for a good price. We originally hired him to frame a door and ended up asking him to do all kinds of other projects, including landscaping the backyard. If there is a mistake, he fixes it right away and wants to make sure we're happy with the result. We'll be calling him again for more projects in the future!"

"Warren did framing, electrical, insulation, installed doors and windows on a new guest house for us. He also helped us redraw our blueprints for a more efficient use of space and materials. He is patient and easy to work with. We feel his prices were very fair and he did excellent quality work. We plan to have him come back to install sheetrock, plumbing, kitchen cabinets and mini-splits for heating/cooling."

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

Choose a barn door with an extra two to three inches on either side of the frame. The width of the barn door will depend on the type and placement of your track, but in most cases, an additional inch or two will do the trick.

Barns and barndominiums are most commonly painted red, like barns depicted in movies and paintings. The practice of painting barns red dates back to America’s colonial days, when new farmers would borrow the European practice of mixing linseed oil with ferrous oxide to coat the barns in order to protect them from the elements, leaving the structures with a red color.

In the U.S., original and converted carriage houses are most often found in New England, New York, and other parts of the Northeast. New construction carriage houses can be found across the country, and are often added to properties with Colonial-style homes for additional living, storage, or work space, although they can be found in many different styles.

Whether building a playground or installing a pre-made one is more affordable depends on the materials of each. In most cases, it’s more affordable to build a wooden playground than it is to buy one and have it professionally installed, but it might be less expensive to invest in a pre-made plastic playground, even if you pay a professional to install it. Wooden playgrounds tend to last longer, but as children age, they will become less valuable. Overall, it may be most affordable to have a pro install a pre-made plastic playground.

A simple A-frame chicken coop can take as little as three hours to build, but a more substantial all-in-one coop to house a large flock can take four or five days to build. Consult a local handyperson or custom coop builder for a time estimate based on the specific details of your project.
