"I have used Mike's Computer Repair for several years now, and have always been extremely satisfied. Mike is very trustworthy so I never have to worry about turning over "control" of my computer to him. I have called on Mike numerous times when I mess up something on the computer and he quickly takes care of my mistakes and doesn't act like I'm an idiot. I highly recommend using Mike."

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

"Went very well.....scheduled appointment at my convenience, was on time, and worked very quickly.  Showed what work he did.  I waited a couple of weeks before submitting this report to make sure I had no further issues.   Computer works fine and problem resolved.  I would use My Computer Buddy again.
Very professional.....explained everything he was going to do.

Computer Repair questions, answered by experts

Computer repair work in your Midland home can affect other systems. The heat generated by equipment can impact your HVAC's cooling costs, a key consideration in a hot climate. Adding multiple computers may strain your electrical panel, while running new ethernet cables could require wall modifications. Repairs might also interact with integrated home security systems, smart thermostats, and other connected home automation devices.

Helpful?

The climate in Midland, TX, significantly impacts computer repair needs. Extreme summer heat causes overheating, requiring enhanced cooling and regular cleaning to combat dust from regional storms. Frequent thunderstorms and power grid stress necessitate installing surge protectors and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) to prevent damage. These preventative measures are crucial for protecting electronics from the harsh West Texas weather.

Helpful?

In Midland, TX, frequent shutdowns from overheating can lead to complete hardware failure in the summer heat. Intermittent connectivity issues may signal a need for whole-home rewiring, not just a simple fix. Also, watch for significant dust accumulation, which can cause fan failures, and frequent power-related restarts that could point to larger electrical problems requiring professional attention.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Midland, TX, should prioritize establishing a reliable home network to cover the area's spread-out residential properties. Other key projects include professional home office configuration, given the local work-from-home culture, and integrating home security systems. Implementing robust data backup solutions and comprehensive virus protection are also essential first steps to secure your digital life in your new home.

Helpful?

Your Midland, TX home is a good candidate for computer repair projects if it's an older build from before 2000 with outdated wiring that needs network upgrades. Large or multi-story homes common in the area often have Wi-Fi dead zones that require mesh networks or professional optimization. A dedicated home office, prevalent in Midland, also indicates a need for robust IT support.
