"I purchased a home in Cedar Park and needed a new water heater and other small plumbing repairs done. I saw Daniel's Plumbing advertisement on HomeAdvisor, so I decided to call him. I'm so glad I did! Daniel is very knowledgeable, professional, and a genuinely nice guy. His work is A+ and the price for the work done is very fair. I highly recommend Daniel's Plumbing, LLC for all your plumbing needs!"

"Working with John, Evan and Travis was a great experience. By far, Hill Country Tub and Shower has been the most professional, courteous and dependable contractor my husband and I have ever dealt with. We are very pleased with the results of our 2 bathrooms. When we asked them to come back to tweak a couple of things, they responded the same day and quickly took care of it. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them a gif the need arises."

"Stamport Plumbing came and helped us when a gas smell was coming from behind the stove. They came out and assessed the situation, let us know what was going on and made the home safe for our renters. We are grateful for them."

"I had a conversion, tub to walk in shower, and I am 100% happy. My sales rep Aaron was not pushy, he was very informative and willing to explain everything and willing to answer all of my questions. My demo tech, a different guy also named Aaron was wonderful. He was very professional, polite, reviewed the plan and the explained the stages. He laid down drop cloths from my front door to the bathroom, he kept the door closed to contain most of the dust in the bathroom. He carried all of the debris out to his work van. When he finished he showed me what was done and explained what would happen the next day. The next morning Javi and Steven arrived and introduced themselves and explained what their plan was. Again professional guys and very personable. I have had other contractors on other jobs who could not carry a conversation and avoided eye contact and talking, not any of the West Shore guys, they were very pleasant and I was completely comfortable with them in my home. Javi and Steven got to work after the inspector stopped by and gave them the ok. They were focused on their work and I was able to work from home and had several video calls with no interruptions. When they were done they reviewed their work with me and I signed off on the job. They had also laid down the drop cloths and they cleared everything and left my home clean with a beautiful new walk in shower. I am definitely a satisfied customer!"

"This business came out, analyzed what my problem really was and recommended I use an A/C company to resolve it. He was very professional and thorough in his review of the problem. I plan to use him again when other plumbing issues come up. He did all of this as part of providing me with a free estimate of the cost of repairs."

"They did an amazing job on our bathroom remodel. While other companies gave us crazy looks when we asked to turn an old cupboard into a hallway closet, this team embraced the challenge. Their pricing was incredibly fair and transparent compared to other quotes we received. I highly recommend them for their fair rates and excellent problem-solving"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Yes, shower water goes into the septic tank. Shower water is a type of greywater, and in fact, all water used in a home with a septic system—including water from sinks, toilets, the dishwasher, and the washing machine—drains into the tank. When shower water enters the tank, debris like soap and hair travels with it. The solid debris sinks to the bottom to become sludge, while soap residue joins the scum layer at the top. The remaining water is treated in the tank before moving to the drain field for further treatment and dispersal. It is important to avoid putting oil or harsh chemicals down any drain, as they can cause clogs or disrupt the beneficial bacteria required for proper wastewater management in the septic system.

You should never pour antifreeze down the drain or outside on the ground. Because it's highly toxic, antifreeze can still impact people and animals long after it drains. Antifreeze can contaminate water and sewage systems, and any that gets into storm drains and water supplies can attract animals and harm those that ingest it.

To keep a walk-in tub in good condition, clean it regularly with non-abrasive cleaners. It is also important to periodically inspect the seals, jets, and faucets to ensure they are functioning correctly.

It’s safe to carry out minor repairs on small cracks and leaks on copper pipes by yourself. Since copper melts under heat, you can solder a copper pipe to repair what’s broken. Note that it’s better to solder two couplings and a copper pipe together to fix minor leaks. This gives you some additional material for a stronger repair.

You may have to dig out drain valves if they are buried under dirt. This method isn’t ideal, and it increases the chance of clogs and damage. Ideally, a drip irrigation system buries drain valves in a gravel pocket so they are easier to access and better-protected. If you have trouble accessing drain valves, hire a sprinkler professional to find them safely and efficiently.
