"Last summer, even with the AC running constantly and the thermostat set at 72 degrees, the temperature inside the house would reach 80 degrees or higher. This summer is much better; the thermostat is set to 70 degrees, and the house actually stays at 70. Our electric bills are also reflecting this improved energy efficiency. Thank you Dillon, NxT Level Insulation for the outstanding work and exceptional customer service."

"I spoke to Richard Carroll over the phone in about an hour after using Home Advisor..He gave me a quote over the telephone..about 2 weeks later I called him and scheduled an appointment,.the workers arrived on time and got started immediately..after the insulation removal we had set a date for them to come and blow in the new insulation, but I had to call and get the date changed to the following day,and the workers were here and got the insulation blown in in about 1.5 hours, and cleaned up after. If I ever need any insulation removed/installed again I will not hesitate to call Mr.Richard Carroll and have them come back out..the workers were vey polite and answered any questions I had. I have already noticed a difference in time where the heater is not coming on as much and thats great ! I highly recommend Carroll Insulation ! Thank you Carroll Insulation."

"Admittedly a little more expensive, Scott gave me an education on spray foam insulation. I decided to go with them because he understood the process so well it just made me comfortable with the decision. Mini split installation and seal the cement and I’m gonna have a very comfortable place to work year round."

"GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Chris was wonderful! He responded very quickly to my initial request. He provided several options on the level on insulation to use. On the day of installation, he arrived on time and the job was completed as quoted. I am so happy to have found this company. I plan on using them on another project very soon."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

While freezing pipes are less of a concern in warmer climates, pipe insulation can still be beneficial because it helps prevent condensation on cold water pipes, reducing the risk of moisture-related issues like mold growth. It also helps maintain water temperature, reducing the energy needed to heat and cool the water, which can ultimately lower your utility bills.

The most energy-efficient windows are double—or triple-pane windows with low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings and gas fills between the panes. These windows reduce heat transfer, prevent drafts, and help maintain a consistent indoor temperature. But if replacing windows isn’t in your budget, pairing your existing windows with insulating window treatments can still make a noticeable difference in home comfort and monthly bills.

Because of the moisture concern, open-cell foam requires a vapor barrier. The barrier protects against high humidity and moisture exposure in rooms such as basements, bathrooms, or exterior walls. It wouldn't be necessary in dry interior spaces.

Exposed ductwork can sweat just like ductwork placed behind walls, sometimes even more so. Ductwork sweats—like a cold drink on a hot day—because of a temperature imbalance between the air in the duct and the air in the room. In a crawl space or wall, this temperature can equalize faster due to the small space but in lofts and open rooms, that wouldn’t happen as quickly. Many people insulate their ducts for this reason.

Spreading tin foil over your windows works similarly to radiant barrier insulation, but not as well. It will reflect some of the sunlight that would otherwise come through the glass and warm up the inside of your home, so it might help a little to keep your home cool in the summer. However, the appearance isn’t preferable to blinds or drapes that can offer the same benefits. You might also consider tinting your windows instead, which is a more aesthetically pleasing change that can still block a good portion of the solar heat coming through your windows.
