Small jobs welcome

"Nick and team did a phenomenal job painting the entire interior of my house (incl. ceilings, doors, trim, etc). I'm very happy with the final results. Nick was very punctual, organized and quick to respond with any questions and requests. They made it so painless, I just wished I had done it sooner! The quality of their work is incredible. Perfect lines, no dripping and the clean-up was spotless every day. Looks like a brand new house. I can't say enough good things about the experience. We will be doing the exterior of our house soon and I am looking forward to working with Nick again and highly recommend them for all your painting needs."

"AMERICA PAINTING & REMODELING IS THE BEST our family has had. We have had quite a bit of help to remodel. RAY & EDY ARE PROFESSIONALS WHO ARE OUTSTANDING!! Excellent, above & beyond. A++++++++ Emails were great. Arrived at our home on time. Polite and knowledgeable with the work we needed. RAY & EDY are so kind and started the job right away. They have a good business and understand how to complete a project promptly. Cleaned up well. We are so happy with their work; in 2021 our family has asked them to return to our estate to complete other jobs that need expertise. Our family is so very happy to have met Ray & Edy before Christmas 2020. Blessings and thank you so much for all you do. Price was very good. Sarah, Bobby & Coco"

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can apply peel-and-stick wallpaper over wood paneling, but it requires significant preparation for a good result. Peel-and-stick wallpaper has a weaker adhesive than traditional wallpaper and works best on smooth, non-textured surfaces like painted or primed drywall. Because wood paneling is often textured with grooves, any flaws in the underlying surface will likely be visible after application. To prepare the paneling, you must ensure the surface is free of cracks, holes, and protrusions by filling any indentations and sanding rough spots to create a smooth surface. An alternative is to remove the paneling and apply the wallpaper directly to the underlying drywall or plaster, provided it is in good condition.

Your peel-and-stick wallpaper can fall off for multiple reasons, including high humidity levels, extreme temperature changes, poor installation, and even the wall surface. Textured walls can prevent the adhesive from fully sticking to the wall, making it more likely for the wallpaper to peel off. Low-quality wallpapers with weaker adhesives are also more likely to fall off prematurely.

Common mistakes when finishing basement walls include neglecting proper insulation, insufficient moisture management, and poor ventilation. Not addressing these issues can lead to mold growth, water damage, and discomfort. Additionally, inadequate planning, improper framing, and rushing the project can result in subpar outcomes.

It's essential to follow best practices, seek professional guidance if needed, and prioritize thoroughness and attention to detail.

No, you don’t need to apply paint primer to your wall before hanging paintable wallpaper. Manufacturers design paintable wallpaper so that the paint will adhere effectively, so primer isn’t necessary. Plus, even if you opt for a light shade of paint, you won’t have to worry about the shade underneath showing through because you are painting on a light, white surface.

Once again, contact with moisture is the culprit here, though water-resistant varieties of wallpaper are less likely to become wet and develop mold. Using a high-quality exhaust fan or dehumidifier and leaving the doors or windows cracked after bathing will keep this issue at bay.
