"The gentleman who provided the service for my driveway was Keith. He came all the way out from Ft Worth to Van Alstyne ( over an one hour drive) to discuss my situation. I had a dirt driveway that was not level and would retain water after a good rain. Keith was able to build the driveway up and level it. The finished product looks great. A very fair price for the quality of work. If you have any driveway needs I would give Keith a call. You will not be disappointed with their work."

"We hired Alex and The Home Group team to install synthetic grass with natural stone boarder in a section of our front yard that was originally natural grass that was continually stressed. The upgrade also included installing a 12 ft. x 3 ft. oval area which was filled with small stones with three Agave cactus, and this border was also made of natural stone. Alex was extremely professional, personable and very knowledgeable about landscaping upgrade projects. He was very willing to listen to my project design and added very insightful suggestions to maximize the appearance and longevity of the project. I was extremely impressed and couldnâ t be happier about the details of preparation before and during the project, as well as the appearance of the final project. It is very difficult to find contractors who are so professional, knowledgeable, personable and willing to perform custom upgrade work, while having the integrity to do high quality work, without have to watch over their shoulder to make sure they are doing what was proposed. Alex and his team are extremely dedicated, competent and committed to doing quality custom landscaping work to the satisfaction of the home owner. We are extremely satisfied and comfortable with the investment we made with this landscape upgrade project. As a side note, Alex and his team installed a putting green in our back yard in June 2021 and today it looks just like the day they installed the synthetic turf. As a result of the quality work that Alex and the Home Group team did, was the reason I relied on them to do the front yard landscape upgrade they just completed. Alex and the Home Group Team are one of very few contractors that you can establish and decide on the design requirements and walk away knowing the project will be done exactly as proposed, whether you are present or not. I would highly recommend them to any family or friends for any landscape upgrade work."

"Geraldo was a pleasure to work with. He installed a concrete pad to expand our driveway and a concrete pad for a storage shed. Both of these projects involved obtaining HOA approval as well as city permits. Geraldo managed the city permits for me in a very timely manner. The concrete work is over a year old now and is in perfect condition with no cracks or sinking. His communication style was very timely and professional. I would definitely recommend Texas Green Leaf Construction and use the company again."

"JZ concrete did an excellent job and the pricing was lower than any other company. They left the job site clean and the crew was very easy to work with. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone needing concrete work done."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Driveway aprons typically range between four and seven inches thick, though your town's building codes will likely have specific requirements. Additionally, you may need to add a layer of permeable aggregate in the excavation below your paved apron to ensure proper stormwater drainage.

You should contact your driveway installer before winterizing a newly installed driveway. Winterizing it before the asphalt or concrete has fully cured can damage the driveway. But in many cases, you don't need to winterize a newly installed driveway anyway since it's likely freshly sealed and won't have much damage yet.

You can expect your asphalt pavement to last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, or 25 years on average. The life expectancy of your asphalt driveway depends on the climate, the amount of traffic, and how well you maintain it. While you can’t necessarily control some of these factors, you can control the amount of maintenance effort you put into your driveway.

To prevent your asphalt from deteriorating prematurely, you should follow a good maintenance routine involving regular cleaning, reparation work, and resealing.

The choice between asphalt and concrete depends on your priorities, budget, and climate.

Concrete is generally more durable, lasting up to 50 years with minimal upkeep, and offers more customization options like staining and stamping, which can add more to a home's value. However, it is more expensive upfront and can be prone to cracking in cold climates where water can freeze and expand.

Asphalt is typically cheaper and quicker to install and is easier to repair. It performs better in colder climates. However, it requires more maintenance, including regular resealing, has a shorter lifespan, and can get hot and sticky in intense sunlight.

Ultimately, if durability and long-term value are key, concrete is often the better choice. If upfront cost and performance in cold weather are more important, asphalt may be preferable.

Yes, recycled asphalt driveway costs can be substantially lower than new asphalt. With new asphalt costing between $90 and $190 per ton, this option can cost as much as 10 times more than laying down asphalt millings.
