"It was easy to schedule the appointment. I bought a package for fall maintenance of heating and spring maintenance for A/C. Mark called when he was on his way to my house. He ran the A/C, cleared drain line, checked for loose wires, checked blower motor, checked equipment outside, washed down condenser. I appreciate that he cleaned up after himself and left no mess behind. I have had Air Systems service my heating and AC for over 11 years. All their staff are professional, personable and very knowledgeable."

"Jesse did an outstanding job in the replacement of tub and shower faucets. He also replaced a sink and installed a new cabinet and sink. He went the extra mile to make sure everything was installed to a high standard. He is a contact in my phone should I need a local plumber. Thank you"

"We were having some settling issues on one end of the house. There was a crack that ran from the corner of the window (indoors) across the wall, not in the seam. It was very noticeable. When they got through placing the power braces on the end of the house I went in and almost all of the crack was gone. They did an excellent job. There were other cracks that were expected when leveling the house. easy fixes. even the outside is looking better, although we will probably re do the stucco. Thanks guys for being so polite and efficient in your work, and Nick we really did enjoy the visit / estimate time. ð God Bless, stay safe. The Gary Crutcher family Wellman Texas"

Storm Drain Installation FAQs, answered by experts

The time to install a storm door varies based on who is doing the work and the complexity of the job. Professional installation typically takes a few hours, often between 1 to 2 hours, ensuring a perfect fit. For a DIY project with a standard, pre-hung storm door, you can expect it to take about 3 to 5 hours. However, if the door opening needs to be expanded or significant frame adjustments are required, the installation could take more than a day, in which case hiring a professional is recommended.

No, a storm door should not replace a regular door. It lacks the durability, insulation, and security of a proper exterior door. Most storm doors have lightweight frames and minimal locking hardware, and they aren’t meant to stand alone. While they work well as a backup to your main entry door, relying on one as your only barrier would likely lead to drafts, higher energy bills, and safety concerns.

A storm door should be the same size as the front door. Both doors will fit into the same opening on the exterior of the home, so you can expect the storm door to be the same size as the front door. Most doors will be about 32 or 36 inches wide and 75 or 81 inches tall, although you can customize your door sizes.

Yes, installing or replacing a storm door is a manageable DIY project, especially for those with experience replacing regular doors. Many modern storm doors feature simple, pre-hung designs and come with the necessary hardware, making installation more convenient. With basic tools, a DIY installation is possible, though professional services can ensure proper alignment and weatherproofing. On average, installing a pre-hung storm door takes about four hours.

Instead of a security door, you might opt for a heavy-duty screen door made from durable mesh, which allows better sunlight and airflow. Additionally, you could enhance security by installing strong locks on your existing door. A double-cylinder deadbolt provides robust security; however, be aware that some local laws prohibit them due to safety concerns during emergencies.
