Customers say: Quick response

"Max, Sam, and Pedro did a fantastic job installing plantation shutters in a home we recently purchased. We replaced the curtains in two windows, one of which was a bay window that had severe angles (not so easy for final trim on shutters). Professional Design Center met the install deadline and returned to redo the trim on the bay window after we raised the issue. They went above and beyond what we expected and we are absolutely pleased with their quality, cost, delivery, and professionalism."

"They were great! I bought wood blinds this time instead of the faux wood blinds. The last time I bought real wood about 15 years ago it was a horrible experience. But when Texas Shutters said they are made in McKinney and the faux wood in China, we wanted to buy local. We are so glad we did. They are beautiful and Texas Shutters and Blinds did a fabulous job. I would buy from them again!"

"We love our shutters from Gotcha Covered. They were the only company that provided us with a good option when we learned because of our custom shaped, and very large windows we couldn't do standard blinds."

"Called several painters on Angies list with the requirement to start right away because we had  other work scheduled after painting. Alvarez agreed  to and did start and complete as needed. He had 3 very good painters including his son. They did an excellent job.
He was cooperative as work was changed and added.

FAQs for window shutter service projects in Lowry Crossing, TX

Metal is one of the best types of hurricane shutters because they are the most durable and longest lasting option. This shutter type will likely cost more than other materials like plywood, but metal hurricane shutters are a permanent solution compared to the temporary nature of putting plywood over your windows during a hurricane. You should also consider hurricane panels and automatic roll-down shutters that are useful for emergency situations.

In most cases, custom window treatments are well worth the investment. Custom window treatments not only elevate your curb appeal and make your home more visually pleasing inside, but they also often do a better job of boosting your home’s energy efficiency than non-custom treatments, and they usually last longer. Plus, specialty window treatments can increase your home value if maintained well, so your investment is more worthwhile in the long run in most cases, too.

Hurricane shutters cost about $3,700 on average, ranging from $1,500 to 5,900, depending on the style, size, materials, and your location. Materials may include metal, plastic, fabric, or wood.

Additional cost factors to consider include the number of windows, the time of year you install, and necessary permits. Keep in mind that if you purchase and install hurricane shutters during hurricane season, namely June through November in most states, you can expect to pay more due to increased demand.

Window replacement costs between $180 and $410 per window, or an average of $280 per window. However, your specific replacement job could cost as little as $100 or as much as $750. Factors such as frame material, the number of windows you need, and the type of glass you order all impact the overall cost. For example, simple double-glazed windows will cost $3 to $6 per square foot, but the stronger tempered glass ranges from $12 to $14 per square foot.

Custom window treatments cost around $900 per window, and prices usually fall between $150 and $4,800. Your total will depend on many factors, including the type of window treatment, the amount and size of the windows, your home’s location, and the labor cost. Blinds and shutters tend to be the most affordable custom window treatments at $600 to $2,700, and the most expensive options are valances, drapes, curtains, and estate shutters, costing up to $3,000.
