"Antonio was helpful from the moment I reached out. Locked my key inside a bedroom, family tried to break the door knob off so I thought a locksmith was pointless. Antonio saved the day!! He was also kind enough to take the doorknob off entirely. Will definitely use him again.. 😉😉"

AUSTIN EXPRESS KEYS is one of the best locksmith company in Austin Texas. We offer 24 Hour Locksmith Austin services. Many people believe a locksmith stands behind a counter all day cutting keys, but that is far from the whole truth. A locksmith not only creates keys, but also installs and adjusts mechanical and electrical lock systems utilizing specialized equipment. In fact, today we are becoming even more popular for things that locksmiths traditionally haven’t done in the past, like forensic locksmithing or even as security consultants. We keep ourselves updated with the latest technological developments in lock sets and security systems so that we can provide the most personalized and high quality locksmith services. You can call us any time we are open 24 hours. For more details you can reach us (512-501-2028)

"Choice responded quickly but the insurance plan does not pay for all doors to be re-keyed unless you have very few locks. The number of locks covered by the insurance is determined by keyholes, not doors! (Read your policy!) You will likely have to shell out some money to have this essential new-home service if you have more than four keyholes. The locksmith they called was EXCELLENT and made all our locks completely functional. We will happily hire the locksmith again (R.L Locksmith LLC). We paid $201.81 (plus another $50 for some door re-alignment not included in the re-keying benefit) and Choice paid $100 for the job."

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

One of the best tools for removing a stripped bolt is a handy pair of locking pliers. Locking pliers can usually grip onto screws with a broken, rounded, or stripped head and lock in place so that you can loosen even the most stubborn bolt that would otherwise remain hopelessly jammed.

Deadbolts are solid and durable as can be, but the pin and tumbler can still be forced open, thus making this type of lock susceptible to picking. Most types of deadbolts are harder to pick than a traditional spring-based lock, though. It requires a specialized lock pick and a tension wrench to align all of the pins, thus unlocking the door.

You might want to change a door lock entry code for a handful of reasons. The most common answers are extra security or a forgotten code. You may also find yourself in a position where you need to temporarily change the code to allow a guest to come and go freely but want to switch it back once things return to normal.

Many insurance providers offer policy discounts when adding security features to your home. The best way to find out if new locks will reduce your premium is to simply ask your agent.

It’s possible, but depends on the design of your lock. Some door locks that lack a keyhole do boast a small hole on the exterior handle or knob. This hole’s primary function is to allow water to drain out of the lock, in addition to giving homeowners an easy spot to insert lubrication. However, you can typically use a paperclip in this pinhole to unlock the door by manipulating the mechanism inside.
