Small jobs welcome

"Armando was wonderful to work with! I knew more or less what we needed & wanted & shared those ides with him. After Armando did his assessment of what we were working with he gave us a general idea of what he could do along with his bid. After 2 other bids, we chose Armando's Wood Cabinets. We had brown cabinets & we wanted white, best decision yet. We decided we wanted knobs, so I ordered glass knobs from Amazon; gorgeous! Armando also added 2 more cabinets for some much needed cabinet space. My husband enjoys washing dishes and needed some slight modifications to accommodate his wheelchair beneath the cabinets, great work! The black splash we chose was beautiful! My husband says he feels like he's in someone else's kitchen, We highly recommend Armando's Wood Cabinets and Armando,"

"The crew arrived at the promised time. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and did an outstanding job. The old door was removed, a new door installed, and a covering added to the existing deck in a very short time. Highly recommend. Will be requesting additional services soon."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"I hired Nick to help me get a house remodeled prior to putting it on the market. He was an absolute pleasure to work with from day 1. During the planning phase, I called Nick probably a dozen times to discuss various ideas I had for the house, and he always took the time to answer my questions and explain thoroughly the scope of the work he could do. After getting multiple quotes for my initial Tile/Laminate/and backsplash install I decided to hire Nick and I'm very glad I did. The install went very smoothly, as Nick brought a whole crew with him and had 85% of the job knocked out on the first day. I decided midway through the project that I needed to replace the baseboards/refinish doors and doorjambs and repaint several rooms in the house and Nick's crew was more than willing to take on the extra work even though it meant working late several evenings and even through part of the weekend. The work came out great, and even though I added a bunch of extra repairs on top, Nick still got the entire job done in the initially promised one week time frame. I would highly recommend Nick for anyone looking to get quality work done at a fair price."

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

It is generally more cost-effective to purchase stock or semi-custom cabinets than to have them custom-built. The best option depends on your budget and customization needs.

Here is a breakdown of the average costs per linear foot:

  • Custom Cabinets: $500 to $1,200. The final price is influenced by factors like materials, size, and design complexity. For example, a basic slab cabinet door might cost $60 to $70 for materials, while a more intricate mullioned glass inset panel door can range from $100 to $200 per door.

  • Semi-Custom Cabinets: $150 to $700.

  • Stock Cabinets: $100 to $400. These are pre-built and the most affordable option, but they offer limited customization and may not be suitable for rooms with unusual shapes or high ceilings.

When it comes to kitchen cabinets, most homeowners opt for stock cabinetry. Not only is stock cabinetry more affordable than custom or semi-custom options, but it’s also typically readily available for a quick installation. RTA cabinets are popular types of kitchen cabinets as well, but often aren’t as durable and can be difficult to build.

A cabinet installer measures and designs cabinet units for homes and businesses, including determining how to hide large appliances in the kitchen. They then prepare the spaces and install either custom, semi-custom, or stock cabinets. These contractors may apply paint or stain, or they’ll hire a third party to perform these services.

Make sure your shelves are no more than 12 inches deep. Any deeper and it will become hard to access items towards the back of the shelf. Yet, for larger walk-in pantries, homeowners may prefer 15- to 18-inch shelving to make room for larger appliances and cookware.

Yes, new bathroom cabinets made from a quality material can increase home value. Updated cabinets enhance the overall look and functionality of the bathroom, making it more appealing to potential buyers. Additionally, they create a sense of cleanliness, an essential factor for homebuyers. Investing in new cabinets is a cost-effective way to modernize your bathroom's aesthetics and usability, which is a win-win for your home's market value.
