Small jobs welcome

"Armando was wonderful to work with! I knew more or less what we needed & wanted & shared those ides with him. After Armando did his assessment of what we were working with he gave us a general idea of what he could do along with his bid. After 2 other bids, we chose Armando's Wood Cabinets. We had brown cabinets & we wanted white, best decision yet. We decided we wanted knobs, so I ordered glass knobs from Amazon; gorgeous! Armando also added 2 more cabinets for some much needed cabinet space. My husband enjoys washing dishes and needed some slight modifications to accommodate his wheelchair beneath the cabinets, great work! The black splash we chose was beautiful! My husband says he feels like he's in someone else's kitchen, We highly recommend Armando's Wood Cabinets and Armando,"

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"This is not an installer of "stock cabinets, he is a "ground-up" designer and uses the best materials when completing his work. He does what he promises, meets his deadlines. He quoted a price and did not vary from his quote. He built our cabinets onsite and you can see the work he did on his Facebook website. Although the photos do not do justice to his work. He brought in a laser to make sure all cabinets were level and the exact height even though they were separated by distance and not connected. Very pleased with his work and design"

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

Solid wood is the most common material for cabinet bases. It’s a popular choice because it’s durable and will hold up over time. Oak, maple, cherry, hickory, and pine are all types of solid wood that can be used to build cabinet bases. Other options include plywood, medium-density fiberboard, and other types of manufactured lumber, but they need to be sealed properly to avoid swelling, separating, and delamination from moisture.

In many homes, upper cabinets are installed with a 1- to 2-foot gap between the tops and the ceiling. However, many homeowners extend their cabinets to the ceiling to gain extra storage and a polished, built-in look.

Custom cabinets made from solid wood are the most durable, lasting 20 to 50 years with proper maintenance. In comparison, prefabricated cabinets have a lifespan nearly half as long. The longevity of any cabinet depends on factors like upkeep, the amount of heat and moisture in the home, and general wear and tear. Popular hardwood options for long-lasting cabinets include oak, cherry, maple, walnut, and hickory. While these materials are a worthwhile investment for those planning to stay in their home for decades, their durability comes at a higher price compared to alternatives like furniture board, laminate, and plywood. The average cost for solid wood cabinets ranges from $100 to $1,200 per linear foot.

To estimate the cost of your kitchen cabinet installation, measure along the wall where you want your cabinets to be. Add up the linear feet, remembering to include both upper cabinets and lower cabinets in your total. Then, calculate the cost by multiplying the average price per linear foot of the type of cabinet you plan to install by the total length you measured.

For safety when installing a vanity, attaching the vanity to the wall is ideal to prevent it from moving. Typically, sinks must be 4 inches away from bathtubs. Also, most states require that you have 21 inches in front of a sink, but the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) recommends 30 inches for more comfort.
