At College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving, our team understands that there are a variety of reasons why people call us. Whether you’re transitioning through a life-changing event, or just need a quick and efficient service visit, we’re always happy to help make your next local or long distance move easy.

"My move was nothing like I was promised. I moved a 3 bedroom home that only had one bedroom with anything in it. I was quoted $170.00 per hour using 3 people. They were supposed to pack and move was quoted 6-7 hours. In the end it took 11 and a half hours, there was still a lot of my stuff left at the house that I had to pack and move. Most of my good furniture ended up scratched, my refrigerator doors were dented and scratched, they couldn't figure out how to remove the doors to get it out of the old kitchen my brother had to show them how to do it. My desk has a whole in the center of it. They had to call the owner to move the garage and patio furniture. I was initially over charged went from estimate of $1600.00 to over $4000.00 luckily the owner refunded $1700.00 and the moving people had the gal to ask if I wanted to tip them!! I received $1000.00 for the damages because I was told the scratches would buff out of the furniture and the dents in the fridge doors could be pulled out. I don't think so, and certainly not for $1000.00. You can't buff out scratches in wood furniture without having to refinish the surface, this will be expensive to fix. Call someone else for your move. Maybe they are better at junk removal."

"***** WARNING*****WARNING*****WARNING*****WARNING*****WARNING*****WARNING Initially when the guy came out to quote us what would be required to accomplish the move, I was told 4 workers would be needed for the size of our house. The day of the move 3 workers showed up and only 2 of the 3 actually worked. The 3rd guy had the body of a pre-teen and I knew he'd be a problem and I was spot on. During the packing and moving process he actually told me that he didn't like doing this job. The movers were having a problem getting the refrigerator out of the house which was the last large item that needed to move because we were selling the house and it needed to be cleared out. The movers were having such a hard time that they called a manager and during the conversation he was on speaker. He actually told the guys to "Just Leave It". I immediately responded and told him that movers got it inside the house to which he replied, "Did We Move It In There?" Needless to say I removed the doors which is all that was required. Because there was only 2 movers working it took all day to move a single story 2700sqft home and literally bought a house on the same street, same side, 6 houses down. After all was said and done, a leg was completely ripped off of a kitchen hutch and the foot board to my bed which was solid wood (expensive) a large piece was chipped off the edge. Finally at the end of the move, I was billed for 3 movers when 2 did 99.5% of the work. I paid the bill in full and decided to complain about it later. It really wasn't their fault. Luckily, the other 2 movers agreed that the 3rd guy only contributed .5% of the workload so I was refunded for that. As far as my furniture goes which was expensive by the way, the only gave me .60 cent per pound of its weight for the damages. So in total I received back $494.40 for damages to my furniture and the refund for the lazy worker. This entire move should've been FREE due to all the screw ups, customer service (Manager stating "Just Leave It") and damages. ( So lets do the math here... if you have an expensive lamp in which you paid $1500 for and it was broken or damaged, you would only receive .60 cent for this 10 lb lamp which cost you $1500?) I would NEVER EVER! NEVER EVER! NEVER EVER! NEVER EVER! EVER EVER! Use or recommend this company to anyone. You've been officially warned.... Hire at your own risk!!! ***** WARNING*****WARNING*****WARNING*****WARNING*****WARNING*****WARNING"

Home Staging questions, answered by experts

Choosing a high-quality home stager can mean the difference between your home flying off the shelves or sitting on the market for weeks or months, and it all starts with verifying the stager’s experience. You can start by asking how long the professional has been in the business, and you should also ask for references and examples of past work in your particular area. Ask the stager about your options, including virtual staging, furniture rental, and other preparation services.

Costs depend on home size, number of rooms staged, duration of staging, and furniture rental needs.

Yes, many professional stagers offer rental options for high-quality furnishings during the selling process.

In most cases, selling a home in as-is condition will lead to a sale price that’s somewhere between 10% and 30% lower than normal. However, it’s often worthwhile to sell at a loss because the alternative would be to pay for the repairs yourself, which could end up costing you more. Even if they didn’t, selling as-is saves you from the time and energy you’d spend coordinating the repairs.

On average, home staging costs about $1,800, ranging from $150 to $5,000. The project cost of home staging depends on cost factors like home size, number of rooms staging, home occupation status, and its location. Keep in mind that you’ll need to budget for consultation fees ahead of staging day, ranging from $150 to $600.

Additional cost factors include:

  • Furniture rental

  • Staging fees

  • Rearranging and decluttering

  • Repairs and maintenance

  • Additional purchases to fill gaps in decor
