"Grant spent two full days clearing my property of unwanted trees and under growth. He did a fantastic job and I am very pleased with the results. He was on time, did what he said he would do and at a fair price. I will be using Nogaj Land Company for all my future landscape projects."

"Top notch dirt work! Brian performed some property grading, drainage work, and built me a pad for a shop. He was fast, knowledgeable and very professional! His pricing was very fairâ ¦There are always cheaper companies out there, but in my opinion and experience hiring a cheap contractor usually ends up costing much more money than a quality contractor, because the job often needs to be redone. That or you have to live with subpar work on your property. Trust me, you wonâ t regret hiring Diamond H6!"

"I purchased a new property that was grown up in 6 foot tall grass and tree saplings. Mr. Moore came in and made it look like a completely different place. It was great. I had two creek crossings on the property that was in very bad shape. Mr. Moore smooth them out and made them look like a professional crossing. I would recommend Mr. Moore’s work to anyone."

"I highly recommend this company. They were quick and very competent. Honest workers who clean up after themselves. The property was cleaner afterwards than before they started the job. Excellent service!"

"Corey and his helper did a fine job getting our French drain in although they only had a short window to do between rain showers. I am pleased with how it works. I highly recommend them."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

A boundary survey measures the boundary lines of the property, only the length of each property line and their locations. A land survey includes a more in-depth measurement of the property, including the heights and depths of the terrain measured by a topographic survey. A boundary survey is typically the most cost-effective method for marking and measuring property lines.

A land survey includes the layout of a single property, including precise measurements and to-scale drawings of boundary lines, land improvements, and sometimes other features, like topography and drainage information. A plat map includes the layouts and boundary lines of several adjacent plots and basic structure measurements. Surveys are normally more valuable for homeowners and buyers, and plat maps are for governmental use.

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

Measure from zero on a measuring tape by placing the metal hook right up against the edge of what you need to measure. You can also latch the hook onto an open edge—of, say, a table—to accurately measure as well. If you begin at the 1-inch mark, you'll need to subtract an inch from your total.

A few different types of land surveys can help determine certain features and boundaries of your property. These include:

  • Boundary surveys describe the actual borders of a property. These are generally required when trying to get construction permits issued.

  • Location surveys provide much of the same information as a boundary survey but also include in-depth information about any improvements made to your property.

  • Mortgage location surveys are usually required by lenders and title companies before financing or offering an insurance policy.

  • Site-planning surveys are done before applying for building permits and can be issued before any major home improvements.

  • Topographic surveys provide a formal map of land elevations. It can also describe the location and size of natural features and any land improvements.
