"It went great until we got to our destination. He came across as very professional. BUT, Once we got to our new home, we discovered he left a dolly under our huge wine refrigerator which cause a huge crack in the side. He also did not properly load pool table slates that were prepared ahead of time for a cross country move. He laid them down instead of standing them up cause one to completely break in half. He assured me when I hired him he had insurance and we signed a contract that did not state a timeline of damage notification. Now he says I only had 3 days to notify him when he knew the move would be over a week. All I want is the insurance information to file a claim which he is refusing to give. Too bad this site doesn't allow photos. Get his insurance ahead of time."

JKKK Moving & Storage LLC is a moving company based out of Spring, Texas. We provide smiling faces, great customer service, and a white glove moving experience.
"- READ BEFORE HIRING THEM - Oh boy, where to even start... So I was looking for a reliable company that could fulfill a partial move to help move some furniture and other items (2 couches, 4 boxes, an upright piano which was a gift from one of my grandparents who sadly passed away... Needless to say, I have a lot of sentimental values assigned to it) from my family's place in TX to my new home in California. I've previously hired Roadway to do a long-distance move from Manhattan, NY to California, but Roadway did not offer any services on the West Coast. So while searching for a reliable moving company and in the midst of contacting several vendors, I came across JKKK Moving & Storage. The Sales rep, Greg, was as friendly and as communicative, and as helpful as could be. And while discussing the possibility of hiring them, he specified that JKKK Moving & Storage does NOT use any contractors to fulfill moves. Trusting his words, I decided to move forward with them and sent over the deposit to lock down the dates. The overall quote felt pretty decent, even with the extra $150 that I had to pay to move the piano, and I was excited to get things rolling with them. Now, everything felt great until the day came for JKKK Moving & Storage to pick up the items. Despite my email to them explaining that they should reach out to my parents for pick-up, the pick-up team failed to reach out to my parents and called me at 7AM PST instead. Then, I received a call from my parents telling me that the movers packed the items rather haphazardly (which resulted in a cracked right leg base of the piano). A little alarmed but putting my trust in JKKK Moving & Storage, I assured them the company would keep our items safe. Now, this is where everything slowly unraveled for the worst. Once JKKK Moving & Storage picked up our delivery items, they went completely MIA. Even when our requested delivery week approached (which was supposed to be at the end week of October), JKKK Moving did not make any effort to reach out to me and confirm that they would be delivering the items. And when I called their main number several times, nobody picked up. I had to call and text Greg, the original sales rep, multiple times to get a hold of them and try to find out the delivery status (Just generally, don't expect them to pick up or call you back when you leave any messages. At least that's been my case with them the majority of the time after I've booked them for the job). Anyways, I somehow got through their dispatch extension after calling them incessantly, and I was finally told that they would deliver my items around the first week of November. Fast-forward to the delivery date, everything basically imploded. The delivery driver, a contractor by the way(!), parked his truck in front of the house and got out of his vehicle without any helper (which I thought was odd because how in the world would a single man move a heavy upright piano by himself?!). Once he got out of his truck, he demanded that I first give him the rest of the payment and sign the delivery form and refused to unload the items until I conceded. Then, WITHOUT A MASK, he proceeded to unload the items off of his truck and stepped all over my new home (WITH NEW FLOORING!!!) in his mud-ridden shoes. Now, things turn for one heck of a spin. In his inability to lift the piano (because again... how does one single man really lift a piano by himself?!), he asked for my help so he could put a dolly underneath the piano to roll it out of the truck. Frustrated and in need to start work, I helped him lift up the piano so he could place a dolly underneath. With a haphazardly-placed dolly underneath, he tried to maneuver the piano off the truck... and proceeded to drop it to the ground from a couple of feet up. Needless to say, it was a total mess. One of the piano legs broke off the body, and the base of the piano was heavily damaged. I mean, what can you expect when you drop a heavy wooden object from a high distance?! Anyways, I thought things couldn't get ANY WORSE, but IT DID. While trying to maneuver the piano into the home via the main entrance, the mover accidentally tipped over the piano and damaged the closet door right next to the entryway. After a lot of swearing and struggling (AND ENLISTING MY HELP YET AGAIN), he finally got the piano through the threshold of my home. Then he proceeded to use his fist to try to punch the broken leg back onto the piano while claiming that the piano was not broken. He left shortly after. Tamika, who we spoke to over the phone, said that because the small size of our move and the fact that our piano was an upright meant that a single mover could do the job. Tamika, please recommend to me a one-man crew who can carefully and professionally lift and move pianos by himself without DROPPING IT from the truck because I will hire them next time instead of you guys for my move. I've just filed a claim for all the damages, and I'm hoping JKKK will make things right."

"Movers showed up an hour late and had no moving equipment whatsoever. Stood around for an hour trying to figure out where to get an appliance dolly. Never got the appliance out of the house. The owner insisted I pay for the full 2 hr, but eventually came down to the 1 hr of actual work performed. Just use someone else."

Before your piano movers arrive, it’s a good idea to prep the piano for its journey to avoid damage, as well as clear a path to make the move as easy as possible. You can start by using bubble wrap and moving blankets to protect the keys, lids, and pedals. Drape moving blankets over the piano and secure them, if possible, to protect the surface from damage. Next, clear furniture and other obstructions out of the path from the piano to the door. It’s also wise to maintain a close spot for the moving truck to park out front.
Yes, it is absolutely worth it to hire piano movers. Pianos are heavy and bulky, which makes them very challenging to move safely and without causing damage to the piano and your home. Hiring piano movers is especially worthwhile if you need to move the instrument up or down staircases, as that can put you and your helpers at risk of serious injury. Overall, the price you’ll pay to hire a professional piano mover pales in comparison to the damage you could do to your piano or your home if you attempt the move yourself.
It is not necessary to tip piano movers, and workers from reputable companies generally won’t expect tips. However, if you’re pleased with the service and the movers are friendly and respectful, tipping can show your appreciation for how well the crew cared for what is likely a very expensive instrument. Tipping between $20 and $40 per mover is about average.
It is certainly possible to move a piano without hiring movers, but it’s not recommended. Not only will you need at least four people to lift and maneuver the piano, but getting it around tight corners and down flights of stairs might not be possible without the help of movers. Plus, pianos are exceptionally heavy and bulky, which means you and any helping hands are at risk of injury, as well as an increased risk of damaging your piano. Ultimately, it’s always worth it to call in a professional piano mover.
The average cost to move a piano is around $400, but your total will depend on the type of piano and your living situation—tight corners and flights of stairs will complicate the move. Moving an upright piano will be more affordable—around $250—and a full grand piano will cost closer to $550. Long-distance moves will bump all of these prices up and sometimes double them if the move is across state lines.
