"I recently opened up my staircase and hired Bob to match the existing drywall texture, which he did expertly. The job was reasonably priced and Bob was punctual, courteous, and efficient. With his decades of experience, you might say he has a doctorate in drywall ;) Highly recommend."

Customers say: True professional

"Five Stars - Highly Recommend D-R Drywall Construction of Arlington, TX We recently hired D-R Drywall Construction to handle a big job in our garage: removing and replacing the entire ceiling, along with necessary repairs and finishing work on all the walls. We are absolutely thrilled with the results. Geo and his crew did a genuinely excellent job. The quality of the work is top-notch; everything is seamless and looks professionally finished. Beyond the great craftsmanship, we were highly impressed by two key things: they completed the work promptly and provided their service at a very reasonable price. It's rare to find such high quality combined with efficiency and fair pricing. If you are looking for a reliable, professional, and skilled drywall contractor in the Arlington area, we strongly recommend Geo and the team at D-R Drywall Construction."

"MFZ Home Solutions LLC did an excellent job repairing my bathroom after water damage. Trino was professional, on time, and very easy to work with throughout the whole process. The drywall repair came out flawless, and the paint work matched perfectly—you can’t even tell there was damage before. Everything was done cleanly and efficiently, and the bathroom looks brand new again. I highly recommend MFZ Home Solutions LLC and Trino for any drywall or paint work."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Metal corners, often referred to as corner beads for square corners, are used on drywall installations to provide structural reinforcement to vulnerable outside corners. Their usage safeguards against chipping, denting, or other forms of damage, enhancing the overall durability of the wall. Metal corners also offer a precise and straight edge that facilitates sharp and clean lines, crucial for achieving a polished and professional finish.

You may need to replace drywall because of smoke damage. If the drywall is covered in soot, you may be able to clean it, but it will require a lot of time and effort. You could spend hours cleaning the drywall only to find there is more damage and it needs to be replaced anyway. It’s usually easier and safer to remove the smoke-damaged drywall and replace it.

Costs depend on damage extent of damage, labor, finishing, and whether mold remediation is needed.

It’s highly recommended to use studs for a TV mount. The last thing you want is to be watching your favorite show when the TV falls off the wall. Studs are much stronger than drywall and quite a bit stronger than drywall anchors but, if you can’t find the studs or there simply aren’t any where you need them, you can use drywall anchors. It’s extremely important to make sure the anchors are rated for the load of the TV. We recommend using anchors that are rated far beyond the weight of whatever you’re hanging. Our suggestion is metal drywall toggle anchors.

Although they are used for similar tasks, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum and is primarily used for large-scale projects like taping and finishing seams on new drywall. Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it a thicker compound best suited for small wall repairs like filling nail holes or cracks, as it dries quickly and is easy to sand. For small repairs, either product can be suitable. However, you can use joint compound for small jobs in place of spackle, but you cannot use spackle for large-scale taping and mudding projects.
