"Good guy...similar price to mount a TV to the BestBuy Geeksquad but with a linger warranty on installation. He was here within 30 minutes of my 1st phone call. I was lucky to catch him on a slower day. Very friendly...I asked to him to give my dog a treat (that I provided) so my dog would be more comfortable. He kindly obliged. The mount looks great and he showed me how to adjust to tilt, and guided me to save the extra hardware in case I ever get a larger tv. Nice guy, Cuodos if you say his name right: Ranulfo is a very good professional installer."

Tv Mount Install questions, answered by experts

Yes, many services include wall mounting for TVs or projectors. Confirm with your installer.

Yes, drywall can hold a 50-pound TV. However, when mounting a TV, you’ll either need to attach it to wall studs or use drywall anchors. If you use anchors, make sure to buy a type that can hold at least 50 pounds. Molly bolts, threaded anchors, and toggle bolts are all good options. For extra support, you can also install a wall mounting plate with the anchors.

Mounting a TV can help prevent some damages from occurring, such as water damage. Installing a new flat-screen TV costs between $160 and $375 on average. A local TV mounting contractor can give you the most accurate price for your area and location of the home that you are looking to mount it.

Yes, you can mount a TV on plaster walls—as long as you attach it to the studs. Alternatively, you can use toggle bolts, molly bolts, or another type of hardware that’s strong enough to support a TV.

If you aren’t comfortable with this type of project, you can hire a pro. The cost of mounting a TV to a plaster wall ranges from $25 to $600 (or more), depending on the TV’s weight, size, and other factors.

There are a few easy ways to locate a wall stud without a stud finder. First, try knocking on the wall with your knuckles. Most parts of the wall will sound hollow, but when you tap over a stud, it will sound more solid. Alternatively, since studs are spaced 16 or 24 inches apart, you can measure those distances from a corner of the room, which will always have a stud.
