"After searching for months to get a small tile installation I read reviews on Josh. They said he did good work and would take small or large jobs. I contacted him and he responded quickly. I needed 13 tiles replaced after a plumber had to bust up my my kitchen floor for a drainage problem. The tile was discontinued but Josh matched it as well as he could. He stayed late working on it then came back the next morning to finish up. My wife and I are very pleased with the work and with Josh. We highly recommend him."

Customers say: Quality work

"Felipe is wonderful and so easy to work with. Several months ago I hired him to completely remodel my master bath and he did a wonderful job at a reasonable price. So March had him come back and do a completed remodel including moving the plumbing for the shower in our guest bathroom. We also had him take carpet out of our living room and lay planks in the living room/kitchen. During that process he discovered my kitchen cabinets were falling so he rebraced them while he was here. We had him re paint our living room which also needed some wall repairs done. He also installed a larger front door (which of course had to have a larger space made). He installed a temporary front door awning to keep the water away from the door. (We plan to have him come back later this year to have a new covered front porch with ramp done. All this being said I would highly recommend him. He is very trustworthy and will take care of you."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Chimneys should either be sealed or waterproofed, which is different from sealing off—closing at both ends—a chimney. Waterproofing and sealing are both crucial steps to take to prevent water damage and the chimney leaking inside the house. While waterproofing is more comprehensive, both help safeguard your chimney, extending its life span and preventing expensive repairs.

You can’t gauge the lifetime of a fire door like you could, say, an engine. Fire doors should be checked at least once every six months to ensure there are no signs of degradation like leaks, holes, water damage, termite damage, or anything else that might compromise the functionality of the door’s fire resistance. Check your smoke detectors while you’re at it.

Yes, a dead outlet can be dangerous and may cause a fire. The lack of power can be due to a hazardous electrical issue that poses a fire risk. If you notice a burning smell, discoloration, or sparks from a non-working outlet, it is a serious issue. It is vital to have a professional electrician investigate and fix the problem as soon as possible.

Wiring a light switch wrong can cause a fire if the incorrect wiring causes arcing, meaning the current jumps uncontrolled from one conductor to another. Loose wires or worn wires that are not repaired or replaced can cause arcing. If you’re not 100% sure you can do the job safely, don’t attempt to wire a light switch on your own.

Generally, an oil furnace is considered safer than a gas furnace for several reasons. While both types of furnaces can produce carbon monoxide, a leak in an oil furnace is easier to detect due to the smell. Oil furnaces also don't connect to a gas pipeline, which reduces the chance of a fuel leak. Most importantly, heating oil is not combustible, whereas natural gas is highly flammable. This means there is a much lower risk of combustion or explosion with an oil furnace. However, an oil furnace can still pose a fire hazard if it tips over.
