"My insurance company refused a roof claim and Brad & Chris went above and beyond working to get me the best roof at the best price possible(as I am on a fixed income). The work crews were always on time or early and did an amazing job on my roof in only 2 days. Cleanup was Great too. I would highly recommend them and plan on using them for more repairs."

"We couldn’t be happier with the incredible job Tristan and his team did on our pool deck and pergola! From start to finish, they were professional, hardworking, and exceptionally easy to work with. The entire project was completed quickly without sacrificing quality, and their attention to detail was evident every step of the way. Tristan communicated well throughout the process, made sure everything was done right, and went above and beyond to deliver a finished product that exceeded our expectations. The craftsmanship is outstanding, and the deck has completely transformed our outdoor space. We’ve already received so many compliments on it! If you’re looking for a contractor who is reliable, thorough, efficient, and takes pride in his work, we highly recommend Tristan and his team."

"We recently had our deck replaced and couldn’t be happier with the results! Rob was the main person on the project and came by every day. He was professional, hardworking, and very respectful. Although it was supposed to be a two-man job, some issues came up and Rob ended up working solo for a couple of days, which made the project take a bit longer. Even so, he handled everything really well and made sure the quality was top-notch. The deck looks amazing, and I would definitely use Rob again in the future. Highly recommend!"

"These guys are awesome! They responded immediately on a weekend and came by as promised when they were first available. Their quote was fair, and they made me feel confident that everything would be handled professionally. I was really excited to work with them, but unfortunately my project timeline moved up and their schedule didn’t align with ours. Based on their responsiveness, professionalism, and honesty, I’d absolutely love to work with them in the future. Highly recommend!"

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

There are approximately 5.33 board feet in a 2x4. You can use the board foot calculator in this article to easily find the answer. A 2x4 is 2 inches of thickness by 4 inches of width, so you need to find the length, with 8 feet being the most common. You’d use the calculator here to multiply 2 times 4 times 8, and then divide by 12, arriving at a total of 5.33 board feet.

It’s best to use two screws to secure deck boards into every joist. Securing the boards to every joist makes the deck more structurally sound, while using two screws on the outer sides of the boards can help prevent warping and cupping.

A covered deck can be a good investment that increases your home value—especially if you live in a hot region with a lot of sun. A covering over the deck means you can get more use out of it, even on the hottest summer days. With a permanent deck covering, you can even add ceiling fans to help cool down your deck for added comfort.

Whether composite decking is better than wood depends on your priorities, especially regarding budget and maintenance. Composite decking offers superior longevity (30 to 50 years) and durability, and it is low-maintenance, requiring no sanding, staining, or sealing. In contrast, wood decks typically last 10 to 30 years and need refinishing every few years. While the upfront cost of composite is higher than wood, the reduced maintenance can lead to long-term savings. If a lower initial cost is the primary factor, wood is the more affordable choice.

It’s important to make sure the wood on a new deck is properly seasoned. Seasoning a deck is simple: Once you build it (or have a pro do so), just leave it alone so it can acclimate to the environment. If you don’t give the deck proper seasoning time before staining, the stain can lock in any lingering moisture and cause mold, rot, and other moisture issues down the road. Give the wood at least four to eight weeks to season before you stain.
