Building decks, renovating bathrooms, painting and doing all sorts of construction and repairs has been my hobby and passion since I became a home owner in 2002. We are originally from Sweden but have adopted the US and Texas as our home, becoming citizens in 2010. My Daughter and I have always joked that "Dad, you love doing all these renovations and projects, you should start Per's Repairs". "The first red flag is representing himself as Steve Perez on Angi’s list when in fact his name is Ziv. There’s the hard sell and false promises (finish a kitchen remodel in 5-6 weeks) when it took 4 months. Unprofessionalism is an understatement. He communicates through texting like a teenager and screams at the client when in fact errors are his fault or his sub-contractors. We provided appliance specs very early in the process and the electrician still made errors for which Ziv wanted us to pay for. The cabinets delivered were incomplete which he blamed on us. He demanded a final payment and threatened to put a lean on our house when the work was incomplete per the contract. Then Subs starting calling demanding payment which was resolved after we provided cashed checks to Sonart Construction. Don’t believe what I say. Read the BBB review complaints for a well-deserved F rating."

My focus is on doing quality work, making sure you know what you're getting and what your options are. I also like teaching people how to take care of their house. Homes don't come with a manual for new owners, and they're built differently in different countries. I know you'll be able to take better care of your house if you know a little more about how it was built and how it works. I started my solo HandyWoman business in Fort Worth in 2017. I was very busy for about six months before my tools got stolen and I had to stop. Since then I've periodically done jobs with and for my dad between and during regular employment. A tip is not necessary. If you feel that a handyman did a great job for you, the best thing you can do for them is boost their reputation by leaving reviews on as many sites as possible and spreading by word of mouth how good they are. A tip is temporary but a reputation creates a business!

Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be aware that not every state requires or even provides a license for a handyman. Many handymen will not or cannot be licensed. If you want a general contractor, hire one (they will be licensed and bonded/insured). Understand what you usually get when you hire a handyman and it is NOT a general contractor.
