"I went very well. Did an awesome job in my yard. It looks beautiful and then did some work inside the house (hooks , doggie door (which my dogs love, assemble shelves, boots for my bed) and very reasonable prices."

"I thought the team did a good job. They were quick to fix my issue the next day after signing the contract. I would have gave then "5 Stars" if the owner would have came back out to my house to inspect the job of his workers as a "Quality Control" measure because they did forget to do some caulking around the baseboard area of the replaced drywall, which I noticed after the workers departed, but that was minor compared to the rest of the work they did, so I took care of it myself; otherwise, I definitely recommend hiring them."

"I am so happy with the work that was completed by Juan and his crew. He is very professional, punctual, and efficient. He provided a detailed contract and his work was exceptional. Juan removed my popcorn ceilings, installed new baseboards, patched some drywall holes, and painted my kitchen cabinets after my renters moved out. Everything looks brand new and beautiful. I highly recommend Juan to anyone who needs quality work done. There were no delays in the timeline set out which I really appreciated."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Which style of corner bead you choose—whether metal or paper-faced—depends on your preference and if you’re comfortable using metal-cutting tools and a hammer. Metal bead offers superior strength and durability but its installation is slightly more involved. We’d say for most cases, it’s better to use metal bead but if you’re not comfortable working with metal, paper-faced bead will work just fine.

Yes, small, superficial cracks are normal as homes settle. Older homes have a higher chance of showing signs of settling through hairline cracks from temperature changes, moisture changes, and soil shifting. However, larger cracks, or discolored cracks from water damage, may signify a bigger problem that requires reparations and preventative measures.

Plastering and skimming are two different techniques for finishing walls. Plastering involves applying a thick layer of a plaster mixture—typically containing gypsum, lime, cement, sand, and water—to create a new surface. This process often requires multiple coats and is used for repairing significant damage or creating decorative textures. Skimming, on the other hand, is a technique that involves applying a thin layer of drywall compound or joint compound over an existing surface to smooth it out, covering minor imperfections, small cracks, or uneven textures for a polished look. Plastering is generally more costly and labor-intensive than skimming. Although some people use the terms interchangeably, they refer to different processes and materials.

Yes, you can use drywall repair techniques for some types of plaster damage. Tiny holes and small cracks in plaster can be patched in similar ways to drywall. You apply the necessary compound to fill the hole, wait for it to dry, then sand it down. For larger damage, like water damage or mold, you need to use plaster-specific techniques and materials.

It’s not a good idea to plaster over broken plaster (unless by broken you’re referring to cracked, in which case that’s perfectly fine). However, broken plaster can be a sign of a larger underlying issue like foundation damage or severe damage to the lath holding up the plaster, so it’s worth investigating before you simply plaster on top of the damage.
