They were quick and efficient coordinating 16 trucks of gravel, spreading and packing it to perfection.. Every person whose been to our ranch since the driveway was installed say it's like a super highway! THANK YOU ABSOLUTE ASPHALT! We highly recommend!!"

"We called Accede for some work on our flat roof.  Jess and Andrew came out to look the area over and we received a detailed quote that afternoon along with a certificate of liability.  Once we agreed to contract with Accede, the project was scheduled and completed over a three day span as Jess had told us it would be.  Their responses to our questions and concerns were answered quickly and professionally and in terms a layman would understand.  When hidden damage was discovered, detailed pictures were taken and repairs were made as the original work was completed.  The quality of work was excellent, including the clean up afterwords.  When my wife and I sold the house three months later, Accede furnished additional information requested by the buyer in a timely manner.  I was dreading this project because of the problems and issues we had experienced with previous companies.  Accede made the experience as enjoyable as possible and left my wife and I with a level of comfort with the work performed that we had not had before.  I would recommend Accede to friends and work associates and have.

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Driveways should be sloped with a minimum 2% slope—anything lower will cause precipitation and runoff to collect. A 2% slope is the equivalent of a 2-foot rise over 100 feet. One quick way to check the integrity of your driveway’s slope: no more than four inches of water should collect on the surface longer than 15 minutes after rain.

With proper maintenance, asphalt milling driveways can last 30 years or more. Over time, you’ll need to regularly sealcoat your driveway. You should also have your driveway inspected every few years and make any repairs as soon as they are necessary; this will prolong the lifespan of your driveway.

A driveway's lifespan varies by material. Asphalt driveways typically last 15 to 30 years, while concrete driveways last longer, between 20 and 50 years. The longevity of any driveway is affected by factors like extreme temperatures, heavy traffic, and the quality of maintenance. Regular upkeep, such as filling cracks, resealing the surface, and ensuring proper drainage, can help extend its life. For gravel driveways, regrading to fill in uneven areas every year or two is recommended.

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

Recycled asphalt is a durable choice for a driveway, but doesn’t have the same appearance and low maintenance as standard asphalt. For long driveways in rural communities, recycled asphalt can make a great choice. Recycled asphalt is 20% to 30% percent less expensive than standard asphalt and is better for the environment.
