"WARNING: Carte Blanche Moving moved my items and now I am MISSING $1000 CASH from my home. Future movers, BEWARE and AVOID Carte Blanche Moving Company at all costs. *UPDATE - Police Report attached (see photo). These are the facts: I hired Carte Blanche Moving for my move and now I am missing $1000 cash from my home. Carte Blanche Moving (3 men) moved my belongings from one location to another. I fed them lunch as well as gave them each a tip for their work. Come to find that we are now missing $1000 cash. During the hectic rush of moving, we didn't have any furniture at of our new location and so we placed some items inside the towel closet which is located inside of the main bedroom's bathroom. The door to that towel closet door was closed. They had complete and unsupervised access while inside our home. No one has been inside the home aside from my wife and I. Fact: $2000 was inside the closet prior to them arriving. Fact: We are suddenly missing $1000 after they left. Once the Carte Blanche movers left, my wife opened that towel closet and grabbed the cash to deposit into her bank and immediately realized that there is now $1000 missing from the total original amount of $2000. No one else has been in the home or even had access to all the rooms in our home while left unsupervised/unattended. Looking back, it makes sense how I now find it odd that two of the movers (males/early 30's) remained outside for over 15 minutes after bringing down the last piece of furniture and I found it odd that they never even went back inside my home to thank my wife and I for providing them lunch. I called Carte Blanche Moving owner, Steve Belken, after realizing that I now had $1000 missing from my home. I made sure to tread lightly on trying to explain that I am now missing $1000 cash but that it was there during the move. As expected, we get his apology about the "misplaced cash”, but he denies that his employees would ever do such a thing. He also says that I shouldn't have left valuables out in the open. Those were his words. And that his company is not liable for any theft as it says so in the contract that I signed. He says he "knows them" in which I had to interrupt and to remind him that one of the three movers was brand new as I saw another training him. I was honest and upfront with him and told him that I will be filing a police report with my local authorities. He understood that part and didn’t seem to have an issue as police generally do nothing in these types of situations. However, as soon as I mentioned that I would also go online and leave reviews based on my experience working with Carte Blanche Moving, he quickly threatened me with legal action if I were to do such a thing by saying how this would "cost us both money so it's better not to do that” although I am the one who is out of $1000 dollars. BEWARE of using Carte Blanche Moving. Although I have no personal malice toward Steve Belken himself (as he was not the the one who came into my home and personally stole from me), but to justify that I should not have left anything of value out in the open and that it should have otherwise been locked away to avoid theft is not exactly comforting to home owners who hire his company/employees who have to come inside your home to move your personal belongings. Is this the company you really to do business with? A company who hires thieves and then takes no responsibility when things go missing. Now it feels as though we have been personally violated because Carte Blanche Moving set me up with dishonest individuals. I am not saying this will be your experience, but this was mine and it's very upsetting and troubling. Just be aware that if this happened to me dealing with Carte Blanche Moving, then this CAN HAPPEN TO YOU TOO. I have also attached a photo of the police report to show that is a serious and concerning matter and to also help in warning others about Carte Blanche Moving."
