New Bath TechnologiesMary was very helpful when it came to redesigning my hallway bathroom. She had a no-pressure approach and was extremely patient with all my indecisiveness. She helped me narrow down my choices until I was comfortable with my decisions. Robert and Michael came out to demo the bathroom. I was impressed how they kept the mess to a minimum and cleaned up each evening before they left. They were super friendly and hard working. A few days later Lenny came out with the most beautiful custom cabinetry. I was so happy with the progress at this point, I called Mary and told her I was ready to re-design the master bath too. Robert did a fantastic job installing the showers and vanity tops. I recognized then that Robert was not a contractor, but rather a craftsman who takes great pride in his work. Robert made sure things were done right. Empire General Contracting of Texas, LLCI normally don't feel strongly enough to write reviews. Carlos and this company deserve one though. I've worked with quite a few contractors and have had mixed experiences. The work done by Carlos and his sons was fantastic. The experience working with them was great. If you are considering hiring these guys, DO IT. They are the real deal. Fast, communicative, and attentive to detail. They were flexible when they needed to be! Empire General Contracting of Texas, LLCThis is the second kitchen I have had renovated using The Empire of Tile and Granite. I was referred to them by my mom who also used them for a kitchen reno. For this kitchen, we moved a cook top from the island to a wall and put in a recirculating vent hood. We took down a pantry wall. We moved some electrical. We had two sinks installed. We moved our washer dryer hookups. We had floors, cabinets, countertops replaced. The whole shebang. Carlos Castro is very helpful. He came to my house months before I was ready to begin work to give me some idea of cost for the various things I was considering, so I knew which cooktop and vent would work for my project. He brought me cabinet samples to my house (purchased on his own dime). The contract is very clear and reasonable. A+ all around, though I gave a B for price simply because, though it is fair, it won't be the lowest quote you receive, in my experience. His team is professional and very skilled and he has multiple 'foremen' who can help with project discussion, guidance, and issues on days when Carlos can't be onsite - though he makes an effort to be there every day during critical work and at least once a week otherwise. As with any project, keep track of changes. They do add up - but Carlos is very open and honest with those prices as things come up and often gave me ideas to reduce or maximize value for any additional costs.- Cailin S.

Installation was smooth as silk! The installers were on time, efficient and very professional. They left everything ship shape and gave us a walkthrough when done to make sure everything was in order and all the breakers were properly labeled. I was particularly impressed that they put on shoe covers before entering our home. None of the other contractors who bid on the job were that consciencious. Their price was slightly more than the other bids, but they were able to explain the additional value we were getting. I'd definitely hire them again.

Quick response initially, provided all info prior to contact- after pics were sent and contact was made we suddenly were "out of the service area". I don't understand why it's so hard to find a plumber in dfw that actually will work for money. My guess is everyone including you want the "fix a running toilet" call for $600 vs jobs where you actually need to plumb walls and such to get water into places it needs to go. Pathetic

I don't even know where to begin with this company, so I will try to start with the easy stuff to explain. Mike is not professional, punctual, or reliable. His "official website" is fraudulent. If I had a time machine to go back and select a different company from this website I would. I will start from the beginning and try to cover everything that went wrong on this project. I got a few quotes on my house, with this company being one of them. The main reasoning for choosing Mike was at first glance he seems legit, he has the right words and I could provide the exact flooring I wanted. Mike came in and quoted me for labor only as I was providing all materials including paint and flooring. We made a deal to pay 1/3 up front to cover any first hand cost for him (labor and scaffolding), 1/3 when the project was 2/3 complete, and the last 1/3 upon satisfaction of the job. Before the house was even 1/3 in he was already asking for the second payment. But let me back up a moment and explain where the project was at this point. When Mike came to do quote he was on time, this would be the first and only time he was on time if he showed up at all. He brought a crew of 5 guys and himself the first day. One guy did absolutely nothing the entire day, another guy disappeared until the very end of the day and the other 3 guys started ripping up flooring and taking down popcorn ceiling. The one problem I had here was that they didn't focus on just one or two rooms at a time, by the end of the day they had completely thrown my house into disarray. I knew going in the first couple of days were going to be this way, I did not however think that 6 weeks later my house would still look like this with more damage done to my house than actual work. I wanted them to focus on getting my children's rooms complete first, for 2 weeks my sons room was not accessible, and I had to put blankets down on the floor in my daughters room so they had a place to sleep. Every time Mike or someone that he brought in touched anything in my house it would end up in worse condition than before. 6 weeks out and the master bed and bath have not been started, no room in the house has been completed and the amount of damage is going to cost triple the amount to fix. Here is a list of things that this "company" broke and did not complete in my house. Paint and popcorn ceiling cover most of the furniture, floors and counter tops in my house. There is extreme damage to the 1/2 bath downstairs, with the only repair at this point is to change the dry wall out and completely mud over and paint the ceiling. Multiple holes in the walls inside my house. They busted the siding on the outside of my house with two by fours. The landing at the bottom of my stairs is completely ruined. The banister to my stairs is broken. The steps were cut too short. Most of the flooring laid doesn't meet the wall close enough that even trim and 1/4 round will cover. There are planks already coming up from the floor from lack of leveling. The fireplace was ripped apart and never touched again. There are screws and nails hanging out of boards and walls. The toilet in my kids bathroom is now cracked and needs replaced. All of the trim on the second floor was thrown out the window and left in the rain and snow and now needs replaced. The painting was incomplete. Knob on my daughters dresser broken off, and the back of the dresser now has a hole in the back. The bookshelf in my sons room was cracked. Holes were put in my daughters closet and never repaired. Still missing flooring in several areas of the house. They didn't cover furniture, ceiling fans, light fixtures, walls, or floors when they removed popcorn ceiling, ruining several of these things including a new floor that was installed a couple of months prior, which now needs replaced. They scratched a 90 year old radio. They lost 5 gallons of paint, which I replaced only to return home to find they had found the 5 gallons, leaving me with paint I can't return. I wish I could say this was the end of the list, but it's not. Mike would come in and consistently promise to fix, repair, and replace things only to not show up and not answer text. He was buying "materials" sending me a price, I would pay him and when I received the receipts I noticed he was buying personal tools for his very full tool trailer to keep for himself. I confronted him with this with him replying that he would subtract it from the final amount. Sadly we never reached this point as when the banister was broken my patience for his lack of professionalism and false promises had ran out. With the threat of putting a lien on my home I let Mike and his very fraudulent company go. I have had 2 contractors come out to assess the damage only to find out that the cost to repair, replace, and finish his job is doubled because of the damages he cost to my home. I'm no longer mad about this situation, I am hurt. This company and man needs to be taken of this site as Angie's List certified. I looked him up on different websites after letting him go and none of the information is consistent. He lied, stole, and broke. I somehow can not find the place to upload pictures, but so he can't do to anyone else what he did to me, I will find a way to upload the pictures to show the damage done. It took 2 days to completely rip my house apart and 6 weeks later I'm staring a still very damaged and ripped apart home.
