"So grateful for the help of this top notch company! What started as a plumbing issue became a shower reno and the results exceeded my expectations! I had ideas for what I wanted, including a long shelf that I had seen in a design picture. This crew made it happen, and our new shower looks amazing. The price was fair and the work is exceptional. I would highly recommend them for any household and outdoor projects."

Customers say: Quality work

"Brad Curry was a pleasure to do business with. Very helpful and took time with us to decide on a pool that was right for us. His foreman on the construction, Hector, did an outstanding job in a reasonable amount of time considering it was a busy time of the year to construct a pool. They all made sure everything was right and we were happy."

"Couper Pool and Spa provides outstanding Cleaning and Maintenance. Provides chemicals and performs balancing, skimming, brushing, vacuuming, skimmer and pool cleaner bags cleaning weekly and backwashing when needed plus filter cleans at additional costs: DE or Sand. Also performs equipment replacement: pumps and motors, heaters, filters, time clocks, etc. does perform green to clean services as well for an additional fee, but I have never seen algae in my pool. I have owned three pools in 26 years and performed most of my own maintenance. I know most if not all pool ownership/maintenance ins and outs and costs. Ken Couper does the job well - to my high standards. Outstanding customer service. Timely and dependable service schedule. Ken emails cleaning/maintenance reports weekly after each visit. Always adds valuable suggestions if the pool needs it. Does the job as good as I would and I don t have to buy and store chemicals. Highly recommended and his pricing is right on the money!"

Pool Construction and Installation questions, answered by experts

While concrete walls do not need to "breathe" in the traditional sense of the word, they do require waterproofing and dehumidifying methods, particularly in basements below the water table. Concrete both contains moisture from its initial installation and can absorb water when exposed. Ensuring proper basement ventilation , installing a vapor barrier, and controlling water exposure are all important tasks.

If a buyer pays for a survey, the surveyor they hired will only provide results to them. It’s up to the buyer whether they share the survey results with the seller or not, even if they ultimately walk away from the deal. It’s considered good faith to share the results with the seller, though, especially if you back out of the deal, as the seller can then provide that survey to future interested parties.

Soil testers and licensed excavators are often the professionals you hire if you need a perc test. In some cases, structural engineers will also be able to conduct the test for you. In many municipalities, you’ll need your professional on-site to dig and fill the holes with water, as well as a representative from your local building department or health department. That representative is the individual who will determine whether your test passes or fails.

Land surveying can help give clear guidance on your property boundaries for numerous situations. And in some cases, having your land surveyed is a requirement. Some common reasons to have your land surveyed include:

  • Planning for construction projects, like building a fence

  • Locating utilities, such as plumbing fixtures

  • Settling property line disputes

  • Creating subdivisions

  • Meeting mortgage requirements

  • Selling your property

Above all, the downside to building a new house is a longer timeline. You need several months to finish the build, depending on the supply chain and labor availability in the meantime. Building a home compared to buying one is also more expensive, both in the building process and when it comes to mortgage rates and property taxes.
