"Ybarra Professional Builders did 2 big plumbing projects on my house and property. Not only did they install a brand-new main water line to replace the old leaking galvanized steel pipe, but they also re-piped my house's plumbing as it was also made from that same rusting out galvanized steel. I also had some other major work done by them at the same time (tree removal and sprinkler repair) but since Home Advisor asked for a specific type of project for this review, I will only review the plumbing projects. Vlad was the project manager for all of these projects. He coordinated all of the sub-contractors' work and got the projects done in a timely manner. There were none of the time issues that I had heard about with other contractors, such as waiting weeks between one phase of a project to get the next one started-after one phase was done, the next phase would begin with no more than a day or two in between. He was very pleasant and very patient with my many questions and concerns and kept me up-to-date with what was happening. The project that I most dreaded, the house plumbing re-piping, was not as bad as I thought it would be, to my great relief. All of the people who I dealt with at Ybarra were pleasant and professional, from the sub-contractors to the office staff. I think the quality of the work performed was very good. In the additional clean-up phase, the holes in the drywall where the plumbing had been re-piped were patched and painted, and the concrete where the driveway had to be cut to replace the main water line was re-poured. This portion of the project was available as an additional cost, but the workmanship was very good. I had heard and read many horror stories about dealing with contractors so working with this group was a pleasant surprise. Thank you, Vlad."

"The previous owner installed shingles on my backyard patio roof which ultimately caused water to sit on the patio roof because the roof was a flat roof design. Over a period of time this caused leaks in the patio roof which began to leak through the lighting fixtures and rot some of the wood under the shingles. Richard, the owner, advised me that since the roof was flat, we'll need to install a tar roof designed for flat roof surfaces. Mr Richard is very personable guy and has good customer service. The roof install date was delayed a bit however Mr. Richard kept us in formed throughout the entire process. The install only took one day and all the leaks were gone and to date we still do not have any leaks.

The only thing I was not happy about was that the crew did not do a good job cleaning up. They left shingle rock run off all over the patio concrete and furniture. I found several roofing nails in the back and front yard which also cost me a flat tire on my car. In addition, the roof was completed in black materials, yet upon repairing one section they completed it in white tar causing the aesthetics of the completed job to look awkward."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

In Conroe, homeowners favor practical winter storm solutions over traditional snow removal features. Popular trends include using ice melt or sand on walkways, installing protective covers for landscaping, and improving yard drainage to handle ice melt. Many residents also invest in backup power sources and keep emergency supplies on hand to prepare for occasional freeze events and storm-related debris.

Helpful?

In Conroe, prioritize hiring professionals skilled in ice management, winter storm preparation, and storm debris removal rather than traditional snow removal. Look for local companies with proven experience handling rare freeze events, applying ice melt products, and responding quickly to emergencies. Choose providers familiar with Conroe’s infrastructure, who can adapt their services to the area’s infrequent but potentially severe winter weather challenges.

Helpful?

Be cautious of companies offering routine snow removal contracts or recommending unnecessary equipment in Conroe, as this suggests unfamiliarity with local conditions. Watch for vague service descriptions or lack of experience with ice management and winter storm cleanup. Reliable providers will offer tailored solutions for rare freeze events and clearly explain their approach to handling ice, storm debris, and emergency response.

Helpful?

In Conroe, ice management can impact your home’s drainage, landscaping, and outdoor utilities. Applying ice melt or sand may affect soil and plant health, while improper drainage can cause water to refreeze near foundations. Before scheduling service, ensure gutters and drains are clear, sensitive plants are protected, and outdoor electrical systems are shielded from moisture and ice buildup.

Helpful?

In Conroe, monitor local weather forecasts for signs of freezing rain or winter storms, especially from late December through February. Rather than waiting for snow, take action when ice accumulation or hazardous conditions are predicted. Proactively schedule ice management or storm cleanup if you notice icy driveways, fallen branches, or blocked walkways to minimize risks and prevent property damage.
