"I contacted Vargas Drywall after Hurricane Harvey struck. Long story short, my house was nearly destroyed. I contacted them, a week after we were able to get back, Edgar was really helpful from start to finish. He gave me a reasonable quote so I hired them in that exact moment and they started to work that same day. I had a wall that divided the living room and the dining room and i wanted to get rid of it to make more space, he gave me ideas on how it was possible to remove it and still keep a nice view, no kidding, my house was done within 3 days when others said it would take up to two weeks. Overall, my experience with them was incredible and I will keep on using their services. I would highly recommend them to anyone (in fact I did and they were satisfied as well) if you’re looking for a reliable, fast service and a great price, don’t hesitate on contacting them!"

"I needed to get my roof replaced and house painted.  A friend had recommended Riteway.  I was very pleased.  I have had several people ask who did the work.  They came out and when I was getting the estimate.  Charlie was suggesting things they could do that would be better and less costly.  Very friendly.

"We were looking for someone to do a lot of maintenance and repair work on our house, mainly to power-wash the whole exterior, replace rotted wood trim and panels, paint the exterior, and replace panels on our sun-roof that had warped and split with the passage of time. We contacted A+ Superior by e-mail, and they got back to us within 24 hours. James came out to look over the work and give us an estimate a few days later. Basically, I just pointed at something that needed work, and he immediately understood what I wanted. He sent me a quote by e-mail, and we felt the price was reasonable, as it involved quite a bit of work. The rainy weather kept him from coming back immediately, but the office contacted us and said when to expect him. He and his crew showed up as promised and went right to work. They did a fine job, taking as long as was needed to do the work well, but no longer. We are thoroughly pleased.

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Damp plaster does dry out, although the drying time depends on several factors, including the type of plaster, the surrounding temperature, moisture content, and the extent of the dampness. Sometimes, it can take weeks or months for wall plaster to dry naturally.

When doing a DIY paint job, it can be tricky to achieve the perfect, straight line between your wall and ceiling. There are several methods, including lining it with painter’s tape and using the “cut in” brush tactic. Some homeowners choose to apply a thin line of caulk to the wall-ceiling seam to create the appearance of a perfect line.

Glass walls are more expensive overall than their brick or drywall counterparts. However, if you need walls for a building with more than two or three stories, glass walls are the more budget-friendly option.

Yes, you can install drywall over plaster, but there are important factors to consider. While it can create a smooth, flat surface, it is often not the best approach. Installing drywall over plaster will increase the wall's thickness, which can cause issues with existing window and door frames that may no longer fit. You might also need to adjust power outlets to keep them accessible. A better, though more expensive, option is to remove the old plaster and lath entirely before installing new drywall. Drywalling directly over plaster seals in the old material, and if any problems arise later, you will need to remove both layers down to the structural beams for repairs. Given the potential complications, this job is best handled by professionals.

There are several benefits to wet-sanding drywall, but the main perk is that it produces far less dust than dry-sanding. As a result, wet-sanding poses fewer health risks and makes less of a mess in your home. Plus, damp sponges are less abrasive than sandpaper, so there’s a smaller chance of scratching or damaging the drywall paper. Wet-sanding also creates a smoother finish than dry-sanding.
