At Element Haus, design begins with intention. We create spaces that feel as good as they look- timeless, personal and refined.\n\nFounded by a team of architects, designers, and craftsmen who share deep passion for modern living, Element Haus was born out of desire to redefine what “home” means. We saw too many houses that looked impressive but lacked soul; and too many custom builds that compromised on design or build quality. So we set out to do it differently: to fuse architecture, interiors and construction into one seamless experience, where design and build are integrated from start.

"Everything was fine and no issues. I don't really like the virtual thing but I liked her demeanor over the phone she was a nice lady."

"Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me. Overall, they're good designs. However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning. I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question. I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done. If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

"I feel extremely fortunate to have found Vicki through Angie's List ! She is an extremely talented person who is very easy to deal with. She has a breath of knowledge that allows her to accommodate my tastes, but also ensure that the overall design is in sync with the design and location of my home. She has a very diplomatic way of suggesting when I'm going astray with my choices and in every case where she has told me "Trust Me" I have been delighted ! She is very aggressive in helping me find the best pricing and often times will work with the vendors directly hence saving me the time. She also has excellent local contacts. Everyone I've worked with through Vicki has been timely, professional, and highly competent.
My project is far from complete. I intend to continue to use Vicki and her expert advice until the end !!!!"

"Robert of “RJ Builders” had a beautifully open correspondence via text messaging and email. He was quick to reply to my initial questions, and truly worked with us on the figures, so we could be in a similar ball park. Robert agreed to our suggestion, that we do the gentle demolition prior to the job starting, purchase all the fixtures and fittings ourselves, and do all the finishing up and painting at the end of the job, in an effort to keep us within our budget. Robert met with us again, prior to the job beginning, and we drew up a contract. He was greeted by two small children, and he walked through my home with my small son on his hip playing with his hat. This soon become our morning routine. Robert and his crew had a lock box with our house key in it on the front door, which they never used unless we were not home. They would gather out the front of our house and enter together, respectfully greeting all the household members and petting our dog. The whole crew worked wonderfully with our family. They were tidy when they set up, they were tidy during the process, and left my house as tidily as we could have dreamed after a major overhaul and demolition job. Robert and his team were happy to work with our carpenter: Walt Ring of Concepts Realized. When it came to making any “executive level decisions” regarding our job, Robert always consulted us and listened to our thoughts. He was also highly complimentary of our design concept, and how we worked alongside his team to do our homework of an evening, so he could do his job the following morning! Any tweaks or issues we had, were purely because we did have a very clear view of our end project. We only had to text Robert, and things were magically changed over the next few days. When we hit technical issues with orders, hidden plumbing surprises etc. Robert worked closely with us to find a solution which we were all delighted with. We never felt bullied or coerced into accepting something which we were unhappy with. Robert always seemed determined to help put our happiness with the end-result, at the top of his professional wishlist. Robert and his crew became part of our family whilst they worked on our house. They even turned up on the morning of our son’s 2nd birthday with a thoughtful gift for him, which he loved. We have genuinely been thrilled with our new bedroom. It is exactly as we had envisaged. EXACTLY. Our bathroom is like a high-end resort bathroom, and perfect for the height of our very tall family. We finally have a very usable space upstairs, a large walk in closet, a full bathroom and a big bedroom. It looks like it was meant to be this way, not that it was an after thought, added on 12 years after the house was finished. Our upstairs style matches the downstairs beautifully too, so there is a peaceful flow throughout the house. We could not recommend Robert and his team highly enough, and have already given his number to several of our friends who have been impressed with his work standards and ethics. Trust him, he’s great!"

Most interior designers have at least a four-year degree, if not an advanced degree in interior design. Additionally, many states require interior designers to be licensed. If your state does not require licensing, interior designers can take a licensing exam with the National Council of Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). Overall, licensing requirements vary from state to state, but most licenses require certain education levels and experience to qualify. To check the qualifications of your interior designer, use Angi’s state licensing tool.
The difference between an interior designer and an interior decorator is that the interior decorator focuses on the space’s colors, furniture, art, and finishes. An interior designer goes beyond that to plan and execute layouts, structural changes, and overall functionality in addition to aesthetics that the decorator manages. We recommend hiring an interior designer for major remodeling projects and hiring an interior decorator to establish or enhance your home’s interior style.
On average, hiring an interior designer costs about $8,200, ranging from $200 to $65,000, depending on where you live, the size of your home, and the type of decor. The total price tag of interior design services is based on whether they provide consultation and implementation as well as any specialty design services, such as home staging or digital design mock-ups. Residential interior designers typically charge an hourly rate of $50 to $200 per hour, or up to $500 per hour in areas with high demand.
Hiring an interior designer is often worth the investment, especially for larger projects beyond DIY interior design and project management skills. However, the decision to hire an interior designer depends on your budget and the size of the project. Some benefits of hiring an interior designer include:
Realizing the best layout and decor for optimal functionality of the space for your taste, budget, and lifestyle
Managing your project to keep the job on track and within budget
Assistance with home staging ahead of home sale
Serving as a point of contact for contractors
Accessing discounts from local suppliers
Before hiring an interior designer, ask a few questions to better understand how they work, what’s expected of you, and what they promise to deliver.
How long will the project take to complete?
What type of services do you offer?
Can you provide a project estimate?
Do you work with subcontractors?
Are you licensed or certified in this state?
Do you have a portfolio of previous work I can review?
May I contact your customer references?
How do you handle change orders?
How do you handle payment?
